I felt Kenzie's hand on my cheeks as she wiped the tears. Fuck! I need to call Daniel.

'Daniel, she's awake'

I looked at her hand that was on my cheek and held it.

''You are awake. You are really awake'' I said dumbly.

''Yeah, I didn't want you to miss me too much'' She said, smiling.

I've missed her smile so much.

''I've missed you so much'' I said, my voice breaking a bit.

''The food was ok...'' Jasmine started as she came into the room, but froze when she saw Kenzie smiling.

''YOU BITCH!'' She screamed and started crying.

I winced, but didn't say anything.

Tears rolled down Kenzie's cheeks as she hugged Jasmine, mumbling 'I'm sorry' over and over again.

Daniel came in and removed the heart monitor and every other thing, saying that she was okay. She just needs to stay for a little while.

We where all talking with Kenzie and telling her the various people that visited her the and the gifts that took up all the space in the room when Jordan came in.

He froze as he saw Kenzie and his eyes started tearing up. He just stood there, his body wracking with sobs.

Kenzie stretched out her hand to him, or she tried to. He ran to her, crying his eyes our and muttering

'sorry' repeatedly.

''What are you sorry for?'' Kenzie asked with a confused look on her face.

''I let you g-get hurt. I'm s-sorry''

''It's not your fault at all. Don't blame yourself. If you look at the bright side of it, we have matching bandages''. She said with a big smile. Jordan laughed at that and that made me happy.

He has been blaming himself since. I'm happy that Kenzie told him that it was not his fault. Maybe he will believe her.

We stayed there talking with Kenzie. Well, Jasmine and Jordan did most of the talking. I was just looking.

''And Jason painted your nails today while I did your make-up'' Jordan said.

Big mouth!

Kenzie looked at me in surprise.

''You paintedmy nails?'' She asked, shocked. I flushed and just nodded my head at her. I was rewarded

with a very big smile and a Peck on my cheek.

Remind me to paint her nails often, I need these rewards.

After many hours of talking and visits from the pack members, Kenzie finally got tired and fell asleep.

I just sat there staring at her pretty face. I'm so lucky to have her as my mate.

'' You want to be my hero?'' She asked with playfulness in her voice that I loved. There was my woman.

''Yes, I do. Though I'm pretty sure I already am''.

She chuckled and closed her eyes. She claimed she was not tired.

I moved to lie beside her and she tried adjusting for me, but winced instead.

I was about to ask her if she was alright,but she cut me off saying that she's okay.

Despite nearly a month going by, I could still see faint bruising in some places. I winced thinking about the fact that I could have lost her. That bitch!

''I heard that'' She said with her eyes closed. ''I'm fine and I'm sorry that I'm grumpy but I'm losing my mind here. I can't work. I can't help out anywhere and it's making me feel bad'' She said.

I understood where she was coming from, but I won't like her doing anything. I want her to recover fully. Jasmine and Jordan and most pack members have been helpful too. They visit her almost everyday.

''I know, Love. It just calms me down when I know you're safe. When you get better, you can do whatever you want'' I said.

''Anything?'' She asked with excitement in her voice.

''Anything, but I must be there''

Her excitement reduced a little and she shrugged.

''I'll take it''

She fell asleep in my arms and I held her tight while vowing that I won't let any harm come her way again.
