Snapping out of it, Dolly was quick to take a step back. She absolutely couldn’t let him know about her current situation! After taking a deep breath, she lowered her head and muttered, “X-Xavia’s been vomiting quite a bit, so I accompanied her over… Actually, you’re here because of her, right? Go on in. I’ll be heading downstairs to get some flowers-”

“Hey. What’s the rush? Can we not talk normally now that you’re married? Speaking of that, I bet your marriage is going swimmingly, huh?” interrupted the slightly irked Zayne.

Going slightly pale, she was quick to reply, “Y-yeah, it’s great! Also, the florist may close soon, so I’ll be heading off first, bye!”

Following that, she bolted off, prompting Zayne’s gaze to fall. Eventually, he shook his head before entering the ward to check on Xavia… but to his surprise, he was greeted by the sight of the two kissing!

“…Sorry, I’ll come back later-”

“N-no! Stay! You weren’t interrupting anything!” yelled the blushing woman as she quickly pushed Zivon away. Honestly, she was just as shocked about the kiss as Zayne was! It had happened completely out of the blue!

Zivon himself simply glared at Zayne for a while before adding, “…Indeed. Truly impeccable timing…”

“…What? When did she get a divorce? She just told me her marriage was flourishing moments before I entered!” replied the flabbergasted Zayne who finally realized that something was off with her behavior earlier…

“Long story short, Kevin abused her, though I have a feeling he did it to push her away since the Lockharts are going through bankruptcy and all. Regardless, I got a lawyer to file a divorce for them, and everything was settled in a single afternoon.”

…But… If that was the case, then why had Dolly lied to him earlier? Was it out of love for Kevin? But why would she still love that man if she was willing to divorce him? Feeling increasingly pissed the more he thought about it, Zayne eventually replied, “…I see. Good for her. However, please don’t joke about me going for her now that she’s single again. Why would I ever consider marrying a divorced woman?”
