Ashley was always drawn to good looks, and Nathan's appearance had her completely captivated. Learning about Nathan's prestigious status only made her more obsessed. She nodded eagerly, "Dad, don't worry. I'll make sure to win him over."
Dustin smiled with assurance, "Ashley, as long as you don't give up, he'll eventually be yours. The psychic said you two were married in a past life, and your bond in this life isn't over yet. You'll end up together."
Ashley's cheeks flushed with his words.
At Maple Company, Nathan and Dominick Ford spent the morning wrapped up in the acquisition of Dawson International. They returned to the office in the afternoon for a wrap-up meeting and didn't finish until six in the evening.
Dominick suggested, "Boss, it's dinner time. Want me to grab something from a nearby restaurant?"
Nathan stood up with a knowing smile, "I’m a family man now. I’ve got to be home by five to check in with Nathalie."
With no other choice, Dominick drove Nathan home. On the way, he teased, "Boss, what if Nathalie hasn't made dinner? Wouldn't you be assuming too much?"
Nathan shot him a look, "Then you'd better get ready to cook."
Dominick was taken aback; he dreaded household chores.
He quickly crossed his fingers, hoping Nathalie had left some food for them.
As they walked into the house, the smell of a delicious meal filled the air. The dining table was covered with steaming dishes.
Nathalie was still bustling around in the kitchen. Nathan kicked off his shoes and headed straight there.
Dominick, relieved, called out gratefully, "Thanks, Nathalie! You’ve really outdone yourself."
"Welcome home. Wash up and get ready to eat," Nathalie replied.
Nathan went into the kitchen, taking the spatula from Nathalie, "Let me handle this."
He awkwardly waved the spatula, splattering food everywhere, and quickly stepped back, startled.
Nathan chuckled, "I must have missed that. You still remember the past life stuff."
He pulled her into a hug, sincerely explaining, "The past is the past. This life is different. Nathalie, don’t overthink it."
"Ashley genuinely loves you."
Nathan stiffened.
"But her love won't stand the test of time."
Nathalie sensed there was more to his words, staring at him in confusion.
"Tell me, how do we end up?"
