So, that piece of paper was never what mattered. It was always about the heart.

Nathan's love for her was as clear as day. In his mind, she had long been his wife. Yet, despite her affection for Nathan, her care for him, she had never truly accepted him as her husband in her heart.

What was holding her back? She couldn't quite put her finger on it.

Seeing her lost in thought, Nathan couldn't resist giving her cheek a playful pinch. "Nathalie, will you marry me?"

Nathalie was taken aback. "Didn't you say that piece of paper wasn't important?"

Nathan replied, "True, it's not. But I'd rather have that title than nothing at all."

Nathalie chuckled softly, "If that's what you want, then it's yours. As long as it makes you happy."

Nathan's face lit up with excitement. "I found out that tomorrow's a great day to get our marriage license."

Nathalie nodded, "Alright, let's do it tomorrow then."

From the sidelines, Ford mumbled, "When did he check for a good day?"

Dominick quickly clamped a hand over Ford’s mouth. "Seriously, can't you keep quiet? Don't you know he was just making an excuse?"

Ford suddenly realized, "Oh, right! Tomorrow is his 21st birthday. Perfect for a marriage license."

Dominick just shook his head, "You're digging your own grave, man."

Ford turned around to find Nathan glaring daggers at him, followed by a loud, "Get out!"

Ford scurried away with his tail between his legs. Sensing trouble, Dominick made a swift exit too.

Nathalie stood there, eyeing Nathan with skepticism. "Can I still trust you?"

Nathan offered a sheepish smile.

Nathalie continued, "Was that whole angry outburst just for show too?"

Greta, filled with humiliation, spat, "Nathalie, let me go. What you're doing is against the law."

Nathalie turned to the bodyguards, "Did anyone see me hit her?"

The bodyguards all turned their backs and replied in unison, "We didn't see a thing."

"And did you see her come here to provoke and slander me?"

The bodyguards' voices rang out loud and clear, "We can all testify to that."

Greta, now isolated, her bravado vanished, shouted in anger, "Nathalie, don't get too cocky just because you're on top now. Watch out, or you'll take a nasty fall."

Nathalie crouched down and delivered a stinging slap across Greta's face, "Sounds like you're talking about yourself."

The slap was so fierce it made Greta's gums bleed and her cheek swell up.

Greta stared at Nathalie in disbelief, "Everyone said you were meek. They couldn't have been more wrong."
