The doctor didn't stick around unnecessarily; instead, he seemed relieved as he turned and left. Benjamin shifted to the edge of the door, his face a mix of emotions as he looked over at Cameron and Greta. It was clear he felt the trip had been a waste, his expression tinged with frustration.

Cameron sat on the bed, a rare tenderness softening his features. He held Greta's hand gently and asked, “Greta, do you remember me?”

Greta's eyes, once fierce and commanding, now brimmed with fear. Noticing Benjamin, she panicked, trying to hide behind Cameron. Cameron and Benjamin exchanged glances, both understanding the situation.

After a moment, she peeked out cautiously, her eyes darting to Benjamin. "What's he doing here? Is he from the Rowland family?" Just mentioning them made her shrink back visibly.

Cameron nodded, “He's here to ask about Nathan.”

The name Nathan sent Greta into a frenzy; she trembled, her fear palpable. “Cameron, I'm scared. Please, protect me,” she pleaded, burying herself in his arms.

Seeing her regress to a childlike state, Cameron's anger towards Greta faded away. He hugged her gently, regret in his voice, “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have brought up divorce. It upset you.”

Benjamin, observing from the side, pointed out, “Cameron, she recognizes you. She hasn’t completely lost her mind. It’s only when Nathan’s name comes up that she reacts so strongly…”

Cameron had a sudden realization. He remembered how calmly she had spoken his name earlier, indicating she hadn’t completely lost her self-awareness.

“Greta,” he urged, “you once said you had something on Nathan. Can you tell me?”
