Nathalie's face twisted with anger, her voice full of determination. "How can I just let it go? He pushed my mom to such despair that it led to her tragic end, and he wrecked my life. Forgive him? Never."

Nathan quickly shifted gears. "Alright, then don't forgive him. Whatever you want to happen to him, I'll make sure it does."

His soothing words worked like magic, calming Nathalie's fiery emotions almost instantly. She looked at Nathan, a mix of laughter and tears in her eyes, and suddenly wrapped her arms around his neck. "If I ever did something crazy, would you have my back, no matter what?"

Nathan nodded with conviction.

Tears of gratitude welled up in Nathalie's eyes. "Nathan, you're amazing."

Nathan beamed with contentment.

Suddenly, a thought hit Nathalie, catching her off guard. She ripped open Nathan's shirt. "Cameron told me you had a fight with him. He said he gave you a real beating. Let me see, are you hurt?"

Nathan was so startled that he jumped up, stumbling backward. His movement was so abrupt that he ended up sitting on the floor, utterly shocked.
