Despite being a prisoner bound to confess his crimes, his imposing demeanor was as proud and regal as that of a king.

The officer turned to his colleagues and said, "He once did me a favor. If he shows a good attitude in admitting his guilt, please cut him some slack for my sake."

"Since you say so, Officer Clark. We’ll make sure to do you this favor. Don't worry."

The officers holstered their weapons, and one of them stepped forward to escort the man out of the basement.

At the entrance of the McCoy estate, a stern and resolute man stood quietly, watching intently as the man emerged. He was Jaime, Frankie’s grandnephew. Since Frankie's side of the family was rather unremarkable, she had taken Jaime under her wing and raised him from a young age.

As the man walked past him, Jaime said, "Auntie wanted me to tell you that you must take responsibility for your mistakes. They won’t intervene on your behalf."

The man turned, gazing at the grand mansion, a sardonic smile playing on his handsome face. "There was no need for them to do so in the first place."

Having said that, he turned his head with a defiant pride, looking towards the road ahead.

Jaime approached the officers, "I’d like a moment alone to speak with my cousin. Could you grant me this opportunity?"

Officer Luke looked at the man, and the man gave an almost imperceptible nod.

Jaime moved closer to him, whispering so only they could hear, "You hold the economic reins of several major families in the capital. Are you really prepared to just walk in there?"

The man laughed with a devil-may-care attitude, "Yes, I'm ready to hand it all over to the state in hopes of leniency."

Jaime was visibly frustrated. "Why? You’ve lost your ability to stand, and your health is ruined. You’re a man without desires. I assume you have no interest in being the richest in the capital, so why not give me the chance?"

The next day. The sky was overcast. A torrential rain descended once more.

Nathalie sat despondently by the bed... Nathan’s body lay covered by a white sheet. What lay beneath the sheet, only Nathalie knew.

"Sister," Lizzy approached. "You should eat something."

Nathalie murmured, "I don't feel like eating."

Her dull eyes suddenly shifted, "By the way, have Cameron and Benjamin left?"

Lizzy scoffed, "Hmph, those two are here to kick us while we’re down. They won't leave until they've seen the master."
