Nathalie, with her commanding presence, already had the aura of a powerful businesswoman.

Ashley let out a series of sighs. "He's barely keeping his own head above water right now. How can he possibly have time for your request?"

Eagerly, Nathalie pressed, "Where is he then? Just tell me, and I'll take it from there."

Ashley responded with just two words: "In prison."

But instead of despair, Nathalie felt a wave of relief wash over her. For her, even a glimmer of hope was worth chasing.

While Nathalie was wrapped up in her mission to revive Nathan, Miranda saw an opening. She decided to bring her daughter Greta along for a visit to Lincoln.

Before heading over, Miranda gave Greta a little pep talk. "Greta, don't underestimate your uncle. He was once the brightest star in the Capital. The Stewart family’s founder gave him a hefty sum to start a business, and he turned it into millions. They adored him for that."

Miranda even dared to dream, "If he ends up liking you more than Nathalie, you'll have it made."

Greta was hesitant, "Will he really treat me better than his own daughter?"

Miranda replied, "If you don't try, of course, he'll favor Nathalie. But if you make an effort to win him over and somehow make him feel let down by Nathalie, he might start seeing you as his own. Remember, he and Nathalie don't actually have a strong bond."

Her previously cocky attitude took a nosedive.

Miranda, unfazed and bold, answered, "Yes."

Lincoln let out a dismissive grunt. "Did he ever kick that gambling habit?"

Greta, eager to shine, jumped in with a sweet, playful tone. "Uncle, my dad turned things around and even started his own company. If it weren't for Nathalie..."

She let the sentence hang, her sharp eyes on Lincoln, watching for his reaction.

Lincoln raised his eyebrows, "Greta, finish what you were saying."
