Lincoln's eyes widened like saucers, and it took him a moment to wrap his head around the news. He needed a second to let it all sink in.

"So, you're telling me Morris is the one who saved my life?"

Nathalie nodded, her eyes glistening with emotion. "Yes, it's Nathan who noticed something was off about how Miranda treated me and suspected I wasn't really her daughter. He used his tech skills to dig into my past and helped me find you. When he discovered the family was keeping you under control with medication, he arranged to have you moved to another place, freeing you from their grip so you could start to recover. Dad, Nathan gave us a home filled with warmth and love. How could we not make space for him?"

A light bulb went on in Lincoln's mind. "So, the guy who was helping me with all the tech stuff, that was him too, right?"

Nathalie nodded again. "Yep."

Lincoln felt a wave of shame wash over him, and he buried his face in his hands. "What on earth have I done? How could I treat my savior with such indifference and rudeness?"

Nathalie assured him, "It's okay, he won't hold it against you."

Lincoln asked, "Was he also the one who quietly helped you climb the corporate ladder?"

Nathalie replied, "He started Maple Company, bringing in billions, but I'm the one who benefits from it. He took down the big four families just to clear the way for me to succeed in business."

She gave a bittersweet smile. "Dad, I'm just an ordinary girl, not the brilliant star you think I am. It's Nathan who's been doing the heavy lifting, clearing the path for me."

Lincoln felt even more regretful. "Why didn't you tell me sooner? I've misunderstood him for so long."

Nathalie explained, "Nathan wanted to talk to you himself. I thought it'd be easier for you two to chat man-to-man. But I don't know why he hasn't done it yet."

Lincoln went quiet, deep in thought.
