Mrs. Vincent, who had just risen, sat back down, giving Morris an apologetic look. "This situation is..."

She turned to Morris. "What do you have to say for yourself?"

Morris was momentarily taken aback. Mrs. Vincent's kind and unbiased nature made him warm to her a bit.

His usually proud face softened a touch. "Yes, I did cause her husband’s bankruptcy."

Greta's eyes sparkled with a sly glint as she forced out a few tears. "Mrs. Vincent, I have a deep-seated grudge against him. I can’t even stand the sight of him."
