Nathalie let out a sigh, "Alright, I get it."

Turning to Morris, she asked, "So, how'd your check-up go?"

Morris gave his chest a reassuring pat, "No worries, I'm still young and kicking."

"That's a relief. But don't forget to show me the report once it's ready," she reminded him.

"Sure thing."

Just then, her phone buzzed with a call from Dominick.

"Hold on, Nathan, I need to take this," she said, stepping aside for some privacy.

Morris watched her with a touch of concern. What was Nathalie really up to? His instincts told him it wasn't just work-related.

On the call, Dominick told Nathalie, "Boss, we've picked up Almos and are headed to the Stewart Estate."

Nathalie cast a glance at Morris from afar and changed her plan, "Take him to the office instead. I'll be there shortly."

"Got it."

Hanging up, Nathalie returned to Morris, looking a bit hesitant. "Nathan, I've got to swing by the office, so I can't head home with you."

Morris's heart sank, and his disappointment was hard to hide.

"Nathalie, I start at Vincent Corporation tomorrow morning. Can you come home early tonight?" Morris realized their time together was getting scarce.

He just wanted to make the most of their last evening.

"Alright," Nathalie nodded.

Morris's face softened, "Take care on your way."

Nathalie glanced at Morris's leg, "I'll see you to the car first."
