Neal hadn't returned to the country yet. And even if he had, he wouldn't resort to such childish methods of revenge.

As for Jordan, he wouldn't concern himself with someone as insignificant as Natalie. But that made him overlook how much of an impact someone like her had on Liesel.

Elijah asked, "How did you guess it was me?"

"Such an obvious act of revenge couldn't have been Jacob. That leaves just you and me. Do you really think I would do something like that?"

It was clear that Elijah was the one behind it after simple elimination.

"What brings you here? Do you have some work-related instructions?" As she spoke, she discreetly closed the Shifter Corporation file and set it aside.

"Mr. Ford asked me to deliver a dress. He said he's attending the talk at Ashthrone First High School with you tomorrow."

The packaging revealed that it was a dress from Ford Corporation's luxury brand.

Liesel casually glanced at it and then turned her gaze away. "I can afford a dress. Take it back." She directly refused.

She had nothing to do with Jacob now. Continuing to accept gifts from him seemed inappropriate.

Drew froze for a second. His gaze turned heavy as he looked at her. "Liesel, let's be clear. Even though you and boss are divorced, he's still your boss. Plus, it's just a dress."

"It's not just a dress."

Liesel looked at him firmly. "I wouldn't mind if he was just my boss. But he's my ex-husband. Accepting a gift from him post-divorce blurs the lines. It feels like a connection that shouldn't exist anymore."
