[Alice]

“Mother! Mother! It’s time to wake up!” Ezzekiel’s voice echoed in my ear.

“5 more minutes please…” I mumbled sleepily. Tiny hands grabbed my arms forcefully. I took a small peek and saw Azel. Ah, so cute…

“Mother, you need to wake up! It’s your wedding day!” they yelled while trying to pull me up.

Wedding day? Hm?

Wha–What?

Holy moly!

“Ahh, it’s my wedding!” I jolted up quickly with eyes widened in realization, and I heard gigglings.

I saw my five little darlings looking at me with a coy smile. My heart squeezed like jelly at their cuteness. I couldn’t help pinching their cheeks.

“Aww, good morning, my adorable little darlings,”

“Good morning too, mother. But you need to hurry now,” they both said, and I chuckled.

“But where’s my good morning kiss?” I pouted while pointing at my cheek.

They giggled and showered my cheeks with wet kisses one by one. I couldn’t resist their cuteness early in the morning, so I tickled them all and they burst out laughing. Laughter filled the room.

“Hahaha, mother, enough!” Alexia whined, while trying to suppress her laughter. So cute!

“Okay, okay,”

“Mother, hurry! Go, take a shower!” Yzzabelle and Ariya both held my hands and dragged me down the bed to the bathroom.

“Haha, okay, my little darlings…”

When the bathroom door closes, I quickly undress my nightgown and slide into the bubble-filled bathtub. I couldn’t stop myself from smiling. I can’t believe that I’m getting married today.

For some reason, all my memories together with Azrael flashed before my eyes. However, all unwanted feelings resurfaced again, but they fade away the moment I think about the happy moments with him. Excitement and joy overwhelmed my heart and unexplained butterflies in my stomach, but also a fair share of nervousness, anxiety, and fear, although those feelings are not as strong as my eternal love.

“Ah, why do my emotions turn into turmoil again? I guess every bride feels this way during the wedding day…” I murmured.

As I entered the make-up room, my sisters were already seated in their seats, looking nervous as hell while talking. We greeted each other with hugs and kisses.

“Nervous?” I said and sat on my chair beside Willow.

“I feel like vomiting,” Val uttered.

“Ew,” Damona faked a gag, and we all laughed.

“I can’t believe we're getting married!” Xandra said dreamily.

“Ah, goodbye to my single life!” Val also said dramatically.

“You are not single, to begin with, duh.” Damona rolled her eyes and Val pouted her lips.

“Hmph, killjoy!” Val snorted, and we all giggled.

“It’s as if you were forced to get married,” I teased.

“Of course not! I’m just so excited!” Val reacted and pouted more.

“Hey, let’s watch what happened to the promised land!” Demonise butt in, her eyes twinkled with excitement.

“Oh right! I wonder if they already cracked the layer of shields.” Xandra said.

Willow let out a hologram and focused the screen on the gods, who were still trying their best to crack the last three layers. They looked so exhausted already. Well, they’ve been at it for a week now. And also, while the other members of the council focused on cracking the layers of shields, the others dealt with the fleeing high-ranking spirit divine beasts who were causing havoc everywhere.

When mother visits us, she always talks about what happened to the western promised land and how tricky the situation was. However, they didn't ask us for help this time and we didn’t volunteer to help either. They can solve it on their own, anyway.

Actually, we just did it to return the divine pentagon stone. We just stole it for fun and eventually, we almost forgot to return it. If Demonise hadn’t remembered it, we will be doomed sooner or later.

“Damn, they’re really entertaining,” Demonise says while chuckling.

“Jupiter kinda looked frustrated,” Damona chuckled.

“Haha, should we give them mercy?” Val said.

“No need. They’re going to crack it on time and attend our wedding.” I said, and they nodded with an amused expression. They really enjoy playing tricks on the gods.

A knock on the door interrupted us, and Willow quickly cast out the hologram.

“Come in.”

The door busted open and twenty-four young maidservants came in bringing some make-up kits and other accessories. Then make-up time began. We were talking to entertain ourselves while waiting patiently to finish.

This is it. I’m finally getting married. I imagine what Azrael will look like in his wedding suit. Damn, I’m excited to see him.

After an hour, the maidservants finish grooming us and lead us to the wide room where our wedding gown hung elegantly and beautifully. The dress is so gorgeous and shining. The maidservants helped me put on the dress carefully. And I can't believe that it fits perfectly in my body.

“Wow, you are so gorgeous, my lady,”

“You are so stunning, my lady,”

“You are truly a goddess, my lady,”

“Ah, am I in heaven?”

I chuckled at their reaction. When I looked at my reflection in the mirror, my jaw dropped in awe. I can’t believe my own reflection. Is this really me?

Oh, my god!

I heard the other maidservants complimenting my sisters.

“Wow, Alice, you are so enchanting!” Xandra blinks her eyes in awe.

My eyes sparkle as I look at my sisters. “You are stunning as well, Xandra.”

“We are truly sisters. Look, we are so gorgeous!” Val said with eyes sparkling.

“I can’t believe our beauty stands out more in a wedding dress!” Damona exclaimed.

“My beautiful sisters, is this really me?” Demonise said while looking at her reflection in the mirror. Wow, my sisters are really stunning in their own way. We may have the same face, but we have different auras and elegance in the way we move.

“Oh my, I didn’t know I could be more stunning like this,” Willow said in awe while also looking in the mirror.

A knock on the door interrupted us. The maidservant opened the door and Layla came in, looking so beautiful in her golden rose dress. Her eyes glimmered and her jaw dropped in awe. She eyed us all with a wide smile on her lips.

“Oh, my god! You all look so stunning! Ahh, I can’t believe you are getting married.” Her eyes watered.

We all smiled at her. “Thank you, Layla.”

“Can I talk to you, Alice?” she said. I smiled and nodded.

We walked a few meters away from our sisters, and Layla was still smiling at me, mesmerizingly.

“So?”

“How are you feeling? Are you excited?” she asked.

“Yes, but I’m a bit nervous.”

“I know the feeling. It’s nerve-wracking. But once you’re on the altar, you’ll forget about it and all you could focus on is the one right beside you. The one who you’re going to be with for the rest of your life.” she smiled, the kind of smile that she rarely shows.

“Really?”

“Alice, all my life I only wish one thing for you and that is for you to be happy. You know when I saw you hurting because Azrael rejected you, it broke my heart to see you so devastated and shattered. I promise myself that I will never let anyone hurt you again. But when he followed you and tried making amends with you even though the chances were slim, it made me think that maybe he really regretted rejecting you. So I give him a chance to prove himself that he is worthy of you. And he proved it all these years, so he has my blessing. Truly, Azrael is the one for you and you belong with each other.”

“That’s beautiful, Layla. Aww, I felt like crying.”
