Cherise snapped a photo of the document and sent it off to Dora before turning to Oliver. “Grandpa, could you notarize this, please?” she asked, holding out the papers

Oliver aflirmed, “I, Oliver Leach, confirm this document, nullifying the engagement between Cherise and Jeffrey. It will he officially announced at Shirley and Jeffrey’s engagement party resolve any misunderstandings about the family pact.” 

The room seemed to deflate as everyone exhaled in unison. The document had its skepties, but the bottom line was that the matter was put to bed. 

Shirley, brimming with excitement, hugged Jeffrey and swiftly grabbed the document. She took a snapshot and hurried to share it on Facebook.
