He moved away to answer the call, and upon his return, his step was noticeably lighter, “Boss, I have an update,” Leo declared, his voice tinged with excitement. 

Morris’s face was a mask of indifference as he casually acknowledged Leo with a “Him” 

Leo, picking up the thread, said, “It’s about Ms. Leach” 

Eager for details, Morris looked up sharply. “What’s the word?” 

With swift steps, Leo reached Morris and passed him the phone 

Morris’s scowl from a moment ago was replaced by a broad grin as he checked the phone. 

Steven and Hugh gaped, their eyes widening in surprise. 

“Steven, Morris called out. 

“Here, Steven answered.. 

“Reschedule tonight’s meeting by an hour. I’ve got to run by Havenwood Estates to collect Cherise and take her home,” Morris announced. With that, he strode out of the office, his step lively, not bothering to look back. 

Steven and Hugh gaped, still reeling from the unexpected sight. Was that really Mr. Chivers?” Steven muttered, his voice -mirroring their collective shock. 

Leo, grinning, clapped them both on the back. “Sure was. Looks like our boss has got it bad,” he said, clearly amused. 

“Are you serious?” Steven and Hugh exclaimed, disbelief ringing in their voices. 

With a chuckle, Leo shook his head. “You single guys wouldn’t understand,” he jibed, strolling toward the door. 

“As if you’re any different!” Steven hollered at Leo’s retreating figure. 

Leo just gave a dramatic groan and picked up his pace. 

As the evening drew to a close after dinner with the Leach family, Oliver arranged for a car to take Cherise home. Exiting the Leach manor, Cherise saw the Rolls–Royce waiting in the driveway, as it had been earlier that day. 

She told the driver to stop, expressed her gratitude, and then stepped out of the vehicle. 

The soft streetlamp light framed Cherise as she approached, leaving Morris breathless and a smile creeping onto his face.
