Daylight had fully broken, and it had been a full twelve hours since Cherise and Mary went missing. 

The search efforts were still underway. 

While tension filled other locations, the Hawkins residence was unexpectedly serene. 

In her courtyard, Rita sat under a pavilion drinking coffee. 

The sorrow from Garrick’s death seemed to have faded, replaced by a light and joyful mood. 

Yulia entered from outside, greeted Rita, and sat on the stone bench opposite her. 

Yulia seemed a little gloomy, as if something was on her mind. 

“Yulia, why do you look a bit down?” Rita asked. 

Yulia pressed her lips together, looking hesitant. After a few seconds, she said, “Grandma, Dad and Mom called and want me to go back to Fresburg.” 

Rita looked up at Yulia when she heard this. She asked calmly, “Really? Your grandpa must have told them something.

“I want to go back to Fresburg. Rather than waiting for nothing here, I’d prefer to be with Dad and Mom happily. 

“Besides, I’ve decided to pursue a Ph.D. I want to learn more and become more excellent.” 

Rita nodded and said, “Great. Since you’ve made your decision, I won’t insist that you stay. 

“Do what makes you happy.” 

Rita then took something that looked like a small pouch from her pocket, placed it on the stone table, and slid it over to Yulia. Rita said, “It’s for you. 

“If you ever feel unhappy after you go back, open it up and take a look, okay?” 

Yulia smiled sweetly and took the pouch, saying, “Grandma, Dad said, if possible, I should bring you back too, especially since now you’re…” 

Rita chuckled and shook her head, saying, “My roots are here in Betrico, and I’m not going anywhere.” 

The alarm clock woke up Cherise and others in the room. 

Mary sat up impatiently and said, “What is this all about? You took me here and expect me to follow your early schedule? I didn’t even go to bed early last night.

Damian and Charles appeared accustomed to the routine and responded, “It’s a wake–up alarm that sounds every few days. Initially, we have breakfast, followed by a motivational meeting 

“Although they claim it occurs every few days, sometimes it happens on consecutive days. The timing of the next one is unpredictable.” 

“A motivational meeting?” Cherise asked, a bit confused. 

Charles explained with a helpless expression, “They call it a motivational meeting, but it’s actually about making someone, in front of everyone, reveal business secrets or Clusian secrets, 

“Everyone else watches, and if someone refuses to reveal any secrets, they face punishment, usually whipping. 

“Some people can’t handle it and give up quickly, revealing every secret they know. 

“Other tough guys may stay silent, even under intense pressure. 

“Today, it’s the turn of the CEO next door, who runs a publicly traded company. It probably deals with some kind of software technology. 

“Ghost Hand is present every time. He doesn’t say a word but just sit and watch his subordinates in action.” 

When Cherise heard this, she frowned slightly, not expecting the Ghost Hand to be such a cruel organization.

Mary said nervously, “Will it be my turn next time? I’m so delicate. What if they threaten me to reveal my son’s secrets?

Morris had been waiting at the yacht’s docking point on Carson’s island for an hour when Carson’s boat finally came into view, slowly approaching from the opposite shore. 

“Mr. Chivers, look! Eugene is coming to pick us up,” Hugh said excitedly. 

Morris stood up straight, and from his appearance, it was obvious that he didn’t rest well last night, or maybe not at all. 

The dark circles under his eyes, the emerging stubble, and his slightly oily skin all indicated Morris‘ current mood. 

Eugene waved them over and docked. Then Morris and Hugh quickly got on the boat.
