Someone shouted, “Form a line. Everyone will receive their share. 

Cherise and others who were held captive had started lining up for breakfast. 

Last night, Cherise only took a quick look around and noticed several rooms. Now, being let out, she was surprised to see how many people were actually detained there. 

At a glance, she found there seemed to be dozens of people. 

Some faces looked familiar like she had seen them in some magazines, financial newspapers, or news channels. 

The structure of the place was strange. There wasn’t even a window in this large factory. 

There was one room with a window, but it was high and small, and the view outside looked like either a cliff or a large rock. 

The climate there was extremely dry. Even though it was late spring, it already felt as hot as the peak of summer. In the morning, Charles even got a nosebleed. 

Cherise’s thoughts were spinning rapidly. The journey from where they were apprehended on the mountainside in Yonderia to their current location had taken an hour, involving a drive up the mountain and then back down. 

Then Cherise thought about the large factory, with one window that only showed cliffs. 

Cherise suspected that they were located in the border region between Yonderia and Saraley, specifically in the Yoderia Basin, which was situated to the southeast of Betrico. 

The terrain of the Yoderia Basin was famously complex. Building such a tightly sealed large factory here took a lot of skill. 

It was really hard for outsiders to find this place. 

It seemed that Ghost Hand had many talented and extraordinary people. 

A sudden shout interrupted Cherise’s thoughts. 

Someone yelled, “Let us go back! What you’re doing is illegal. Do you know who I am? I’m a billionaire. I’m a businessman who has contributed to Clusia. 

“How can you treat me like this? I’ve had enough of never seeing the sunlight. 

“And this breakfast! Is it even for humans? Hard bread and watery risotto every day! I’m malnourished!” 

Everyone turned to look at the voice. The speaker was a portly middle–aged man, who looked like he’d been kidnapped here for quite a while, with a lot of resentment. 

Soon after, an increasing number of people began to voice their complaints, “Let us go! 

“How could you act so recklessly? We are the pillars of Clusia, not human traffickers. Release us immediately.” 

Mary couldn’t bear it any longer. She recognized a few of the people among the protesters and wanted to say something, but -Cherise quickly grabbed her arm and whispered, “Don’t be impulsive.” 

The next moment, the man who had been handing out breakfast pulled out a gun and fired a shot at the ceiling. 

The piercing sound of the bullet echoed through the entire factory. Everyone suddenly went silent, and some who had never seen a real gun before started trembling uncontrollably, whimpering nonstop.

With anger, Mary clutched–Cherise’s arm tightly.

Cherise felt the same, but she knew how to keep her emotions in check, watching the scene with an impassive face. 

A person was standing at the attic window, none other than Ghost Hand himself, still wearing that black mask and dressed all in black. 

He looked down at Cherise below and chuckled. 

Cherise suddenly raised her head, meeting his eyes. 

She stared at him for a few seconds and made a scoffing gesture towards him. Then she slowly walked over to grab a large bread to munch on. 

Ghost Hand chuckled and murmured, “Intriguing. I must contemplate whether I should eliminate you, or consider how beneficial it might be if you could serve a purpose for me.” 

The gunshot had apparently terrified the captives, who were now eating their plain breakfast in silence. 

Fifteen minutes later, Ghost Hand came down from the attic. 

The staff saw him and told those who had been kidnapped to get in line and stand straight. 

Once everyone was in line and quiet, Ghost Hand stood at the center of what looked like a stage, and said to the people next to him “Bring him up.”
