Mayra leaned against the door and looked at her toes. Her phone showed it was almost 11:00 pm. 

Why hadn’t Anderson returned yet? 

After waiting at the door for nearly two hours, Mayra heard the ding from the elevator. 

She immediately looked over. When she saw the person returning, she stood up straight. “Andy…” 

With a suit jacket draped over his arm, he exuded a cold vibe that kept 

strangers at bay. Anderson ignored her and headed straight to the door. After opening it with a key card, he stepped into the room. 

Mayra quickly followed. Just as the door was about to close, she blocked it with her hand. 

The intense alcohol smell overwhelmed Anderson’s cologne, 

Mayra quietly closed the door and hurried to the kitchen to fetch the drunk Anderson a cup of warm water. After placing the cup aside, she stood submissively beside him like a guilty child. She said softly, “Andy, I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have said those things about you. 

“Andy, I won’t do it again.” Mayra kept her head lowered. 

Out of the corners of her eyes, she saw Anderson remove the ring from his

ring finger and toss it aside. 

The silver ring clinked sharply against the coffee table, rolled a few times, and fell to the floor. 

Mayra’s heart trembled uncontrollably at his actions. 

That was his wedding ring with Isabel. 

He had never been willing to take it off before. 

In her past life, Mayra had always tried to sneakily remove the wedding ring from his hand while he was asleep. Every time he caught her, he would get angry.
