Myra and Thomas lived a hard life and were often abused physically by the people who took care of them. After their caretakers died of an accident, Myra and Thomas became orphans. When Dania received the news, she sent someone to pick them both up but Myra refused.

Dania didn't know what the Nelson family had been telling Myra that caused Myra to hate her so much. Myra claimed that she didn't have such a shameless mother. Myra was confident in her own abilities to raise Thomas and herself well. As a result, Dania had been living in guilt and pain. Later, Yohannes suggested that one of their servants adopted Myra and Thomas as a deed of kindness. That way, both of them would be able to get a good education.

Myra's grades were very good from primary school all the way until college. Thomas on the other hand had no interest in studying. He did not graduate from middle school; instead, he chose to homeschool.

When Myra was in college, she was the campus belle. She had many suitors, including Marie's brother, Dave Walker. Myra hated Dave at first, but as time went by, they became closer.

Marie had witnessed Dave spending time together with Myra. Truth be told, she had never seen Dave so happy with anyone except Myra.

Whenever there was something good at home, the first person Dave would think to share it with was Myra.This made Marie very jealous. She and Dave were siblings. Why would Dave treat an outsider who shared no blood relation with him better than his own sister?

Because of this, Marie slowly started to despise Myra. Especially when she heard everyone around her praise Myra for her beauty, intelligence, and talent, she despised Myra even more.

Due to his excellent grades and his talent in architectural design, Dave received an invitation to study at a well-known university abroad.

After he went abroad, he quickly made a name for himself as a famous designer. Since he was abroad, Marie had gone to visit him over the summer.

Dave mostly hung out with the upper class and many among them were rich families from Haverland. Malcom, being one of them, had an interest in carving sculptures; hence, Dave and he became friends immediately when they met. From there, Malcom also got closer to Marie.

Malcom was handsome and was also the heir of a rich and powerful family. At the first glance, Marie took a fancy to him immediately; she began to have a crush on Malcom. She would always use different excuses just to get closer to Malcom.

Because of Dave, Malcom treated her well. He accepted most of her requests and often invited her to parties and events as his partner.

In the two short months they hung out, Marie was extremely happy. She had always thought that Malcom liked her, otherwise, why would he invite her to events as his partner? 

Marie began to fantasize about Malcom. Of course, none of this escaped Dave's eyes. He warned her not to have too many unrealistic expectations about what was going on between them. Malcom only regarded her as a younger sister of his friend and nothing more. Besides, Malcom's family was out of their league.

But of course Marie didn't listen. She had fallen head over heels for Malcom. Her vacation was coming to an end and she had to return to her home country soon. She hoped that Malcom could use the remaining time to confess to her and the two of them would live out their own fairytale.

Although Malcom did not confess to her, he did go back to the country with her. He had wanted to go back to meet with a famous sculptor. However, Marie did not think so. To her, he was using that as an excuse, and his real motive was to accompany her back.

As Malcom was returning to the country, Dave had requested Malcom to bring back some gifts for Myra on his behalf. When Malcom went to pass her the gifts, he was struck by Myra's beauty and fell in love with Myra at the first sight.

For this reason, Malcom did not go back abroad. He came up with the excuse to learn sculpting locally so he could remain in the country. For Marie, this was great news. She thought Malcom was staying back for her.

It was not until she saw Malcom and Myra started dating that she realized what was going on. Marie's hostility towards Myra grew tenfold at the sight of that. She hated Myra for stealing her lover away.

Looking at the relationship blossoming between Malcom and Myra, Marie felt as if her heart was slashed by a knife. She would never allow Malcom to be taken away from her by Myra, not even if she was her sister.

She began to find a way to break them up. Coincidentally, Steven had a crush on Myra. Marie decided to shift her focus onto Steven.

Steven was popular in school. He was also good-looking and won the hearts of many girls. He also fell in love with Myra at first sight, but Myra was not very keen on Steven.

During the summer that Marie graduated, Steven went to San Fetillo for business. On behalf of Myra, he visited Marie and gave her some money. Marie took Deborah and Deborah's cousin, Simon to see Steven.

Marie knew that Deborah wasn't giving birth to this child out of love. Deborah just wanted to replace Myra. Using this, she made a negotiation with Deborah. She would help Deborah get Steven if Deborah would help her get rid of Simon.

In the end, they were all happy. Myra died in a car accident, and Deborah became Steven's official wife. Marie's child became Deborah and Steven's child. As for Simon, Marie and Deborah worked together and successfully sent him to jail.
