That account “NoScopeLord” was actually Jonah’s alternate account, which had just logged in. That was why Paxton mistakenly assumed it was Jonah

himself.

And to be frank, aside from Jonah, no one present had that level of skill, not even Paxton himself, let alone Johanna, who was just there to mess around and leech points…

As the voice trailed off, everyone exchanged glances. Then, all eyes turned sharply to Valerie.

Everyone was in disbelief.

Especially when he saw Valerie calmly putting away her gun and preparing to loot the body like a seasoned pro. He was devastated. “So you’re actually a hidden master?” he cried.

Johanna also groaned, “And you said you only played a little?”

Valerie just smiled shyly at their shocked expressions and said, “It’s been a while since I played.”

“And your shotgun aim is this steady? If she had an assault rifle…” Johanna glanced mockingly at Paxton, “She’d be way better than a certain big talker

here.”

“I…” Paxton nearly choked. His face burned with shame.

He didn’t expect someone that skilled to be so low–key. He remembered his bragging earlier and felt ashamed.

Trying to save face, Paxton said, “Let’s keep going, next round I’m definitely going to get more kills than her!”

“Okay,” Valerie replied. But that tone sounded so politely yielding, like she was going easy on him.

Paxton felt a bit uncomfortable. He instinctively wanted to tell her not to hold back. But that would just admit he was weak.

Then again, what if she really was going to go easy on him? No matter what he said, it hurt his pride.

And then, Paxton truly understood what it meant to have his pride crushed.

“Quick! Enemy at 10 o’clock!”

“Shit, help! I’m about to die!”

“There are three of them. I’m down, I’m down.”

Paxton watched his game character get knocked down on the screen, wanting to cry.

Then, a calm female voice came through. “Stay down. Don’t move.”

Paxton thought to himself, ‘Damn, when did she get so badass? What the hell?‘

Jonah said, “Enemy northeast, 78 degrees.”

Valerie replied, “Copy.”

A shot rang out, and one headshot was done.

Paxton shouted excitedly, “You’re amazing!”

Jonah said, “Southwest, 210, behind the tree.”

Valerie replied, “Got it.”

Then, another perfect headshot.

Paxton’s eyes lit up. “Valerie, you’re too strong!”

Jonah reported, “Bottom left of the red building.”

Valerie moved her aim there and wiped out the enemy team in one shot.

Paxton practically fell to his knees. “Holy crap, you’re absolutely god–tier!”

Valerie was like a machine, one shot, one kill. No hesitation, just pure badassery.

By the end of the game, Jonah’s once–calm gaze at Valerie had turned fiery with admiration.

Paxton was both in awe and deeply humbled. He nearly hugged Valerie’s leg, yelling, “Valerie! When did you start playing? You’re amazing!”

“A few years ago,” Valerie thought for a second. “I played when it first came out. But then I got busy and stopped.”

Paxton was just about to say something else when his phone suddenly buzzed. It was his second brother calling.

All his excitement disappeared in an instant. He clearly wasn’t thrilled about getting this call, but still answered quickly. “Hello?”

His brother said something.

Paxton said impatiently, “Got it, got it. Heading back now.”

Valerie stood nearby, so she vaguely heard the voice on the other end. It sounded kind of familiar.

But it was too faint for her to make out clearly. It was not enough to recognize the voice.

“Valerie, want some water?” Sariah called out from across the room.

Valerie turned and smiled. “Sure.”

Paxton hung up quickly, his face lit with anticipation as he looked at Valerie. “Let’s add each other on WhatsApp! Next time, play with me again, okay? One day, I’ll be better than you!”

Valerie smiled and pulled up her QR code. Paxton scanned it, and then another phone reached over. It was Jonah.

Expressionless and calm, Jonah looked every bit the cold, beautiful young man. After that, be returned to his seat to pack his things and head home.

Paxton packed up too, still sticking close to Valerie. “Valerie, you can play at home too, right? Let’s squad up when we get back! I’m heading out first!”

Johanna gave him a kick. “Scram!”

Paxton glared. “You’re so rude. Such a tomboy. Don’t get in the way of ine chatting with Valerie!”

“Get lost!” Johanna gave him another swift kick.

Paxton clutched his butt, running away while looking back wistfully. “Valerie! I’ll message you. Make sure to reply, okay!”

Jonah also looked at Valerie and gave a slight nod as a greeting.

Valerie responded one by one, then got ready to head home too.

On the way, Paxton pulled her into a WhatsApp group chat named “Sharpshooter Squad“.

Valerie chuckled and sent an emoji.

The group chat instantly exploded with messages.
