Mark held her tight, and surprisingly, she did not push him away.

Lyla leaned on his shoulder softly, listening to his vigorous heartbeat.

Her own heartbeat seemed to have synchronized with his as time went on.

The room was so quiet that they could hear their own breathing.

Seconds turned into minutes, the two of them did not move a muscle and did not even realize someone had come in.

Hansel and Gretel came back from school. They opened the door and saw the scene when they walked to the living room.

Uh…

“Daddy, mommy, you guys…” Gretel looked at them in surprise. Was this a sign that they were together?

Lyla and Mark looked at the entrance when they heard the voice. They finally reacted to the situation when they saw the twins.

Lyla nervously pushed Mark away and said with a blush, “You guys are back?”

“Yeah!” Hansel and Gretel nodded. They were still having a difficult time wrapping their heads around the situation.

Daddy and mommy were together now?

Was it a little too quick?

While the twins were still baffled by their surprise, Lyla sensed something was wrong.

“I... I’m going to the toilet.” Lyla bolted up from the couch and strode to the bedroom. Even though she looked fine, she was actually shaking inside.

Right after she left, Hansel and Gretel jumped on the couch. “Daddy, what happened?”

“Yeah, you and mommy…” Gretel trailed on. Both her little thumbs were touching each other, signaling that her daddy and mommy were together. The cute look on the little girl’s face was unrivaled.

Mark sighed as he leaned back on the couch, two twins came back at the wrong time.

However, when he recalled the situation, that moment felt great. He looked at the twins in delight. “Yeah, it’s what you think it is.”

“You ‘conquered’ mommy?” Hansel asked.

Things were moving so fast that it slipped their mind.

Mark grinned. “Soon.”

Hansel also grinned. He was waiting for this day for quite a while, he did not expect things to happen so fast. It was something worth celebrating!

“Okay! Let’s make something good for dinner, to celebrate this amazing day!”

Mark nodded meaningfully. “Yeah, it’s worth celebrating.”

Hansel put down his bag, ran into the study room, and started to get ‘busy’.

Gretel nonchalantly moved closer to Mark and said, “Daddy, you are staying here all day for a while now, are you really going to hand your company over to that useless CEO?”

“What’s wrong? Don’t like me doing that?” Mark asked with a raise of a brow.

Gretel shook her head. “I’m not, I just feel that it’s not fair to you, daddy.”

Hansel and Gretel were extremely protective of their daddy and mommy. The company belonged to Mark yet it ended up in Logan’s control, both of them did not want this to happen.

More importantly, the company was worth a lot of money!

Mark smiled and stroked Gretel’s hair. “Don’t worry, he’s going away and he will come to me, begging me to go back.”

His smile was meaningful as if he had started planning every move. The next time he returned to the company would be forever, he would never give it away again and he would silence the others.

Gretel was a happy little girl when she heard that, she felt that her daddy was the manliest guy in the world. “Daddy, you are the man!”

The little girl started to drool all over her daddy again.

Mark looked at her and said, “Good taste.”

Inside the room, Lyla sat down on the bed with cheeks as red as an apple. What had she done?

“I allowed Mark to hug me like that? Am I giving him a hint?”

The thought made her want to kill herself out of embarrassment.

“Aaah! Lyla Lowe, where is your sanity!?”

It was then laughter came from the living room, it was Gretel and Mark.

She miraculously calmed down when the laughter entered her ears.

She could feel that Hansel and Gretel were different after they knew Mark, they were a lot livelier.

The twins always acted like adults in front of her, they pretended that they knew a lot of things but when they were with Mark, the innocence and liveliness in them were showing.

She somehow started to understand that every child needed a father figure.

Lyla fell into deep thoughts again and she somehow fell asleep on the bed.

Hansel woke her up when it was time for dinner.

Mark was still talking to Gretel, it seemed like they were having a great time. Lyla looked at him, he acted as if nothing happened.

She called herself stupid in her heart for being embarrassed, they kissed before, so a hug was nothing.

However, when she relieved the embarrassment in her head, she did feel a little delight. It seemed like her heart had somehow fallen for him.

After dinner, Mark went out to deal with some matters.

Lyla went back to sleep after cleaning up and the twins also returned to their room.

The house then quietened down except for Hansel’s room.

He had not been online for a long time now. When it all happened, he had been taking care of Lyla and did not have the time to go online.

Now it was time for him to go have a look.

It was still quiet when he logged in.

“Good evening everyone!” Hansel greeted everyone first.

“Ghost Gate and the Hell’s Angels Alliance had always been rivals. You will be in danger if this goes on,” Justin said.

He was not afraid of Hansel betraying them. Even though Hansel joined them only a while ago, they knew what he did for the alliance, and more importantly, they trusted him from the bottom of their hearts.

“I know, but he is my daddy, I don’t think he will do anything to me for now,” Hansel said.

“Are you sure about this?”

Hansel nodded. If he was uncertain before, he was able to confirm it after spending time with Mark. The man was not as cold and merciless as expected.

“But your identity and status are quite sensitive,” Justin said.

Hansel nodded. “I know, but you don’t have to worry. He might be my daddy but I won’t do anything to harm the alliance, even if he is my daddy. I promise.”

“It’s not that we don’t trust you, but when Hell’s Angels Alliance and Ghost Gate goes to war, you will be in an awkward position,” Justin added.

Not only Hansel, but even Justin would also find himself in a difficult situation.

Hansel had expected the question, he thought for a while and said, “Actually, I thought of the question before. You are right, it will be awkward for me but I have an idea.”

“What idea?”

“What if… Hells’ Angels and Ghost Gate form an alliance?” Hansel said.

His suggestion silenced everyone.

Hell’s Angels and Ghost Gate forming an alliance?

Impossible! The two gangs were rivals, why would they form an alliance?

“Impossible!” Blake bolted up.

“Only one of us can exist, Hell’s Angels will never form an alliance with Ghost Gate!”

Blake rejected fiercely, which left Hansel speechless.

Hansel knew his daddy must have hurt Blake deeply, hence the strong reaction.

“Uhmmm…”

“Blake, calm down,” Justin said.

“How can I calm down!?” Blake bellowed. He had been against Mark for a long time.

“On second thought, the man hasn’t really done anything, even if he did, it’s an act of protecting himself.”

Despite it being the truth, Blake was still angry. Sometime later, he said, “He’s f*cking evil!”

“It means my daddy is smarter than you,” Hansel said and his words infuriated Blake.

“I’m just calling him an evil guy! Come fight me face to face if he has the balls!” Blake argued.

Hansel did not want to jump to the conclusion of who was stronger and he did not want that day to come. He really hoped that Hell’s Angels could form an alliance with Ghost Gate, it would be the best way out of the situation.

Otherwise, what Justin said would eventually happen and it was the reason why Hansel kept the secret from Mark for so long.
