The words were jarring and lacked context. No one knew who he was addressing. But since his eyes were fixed on Nydia, it sparked speculation from the onlookers. 

“Hasn’t Mr. Wilcher always been in love with Mona?”

If Nydia asked for something, the Wilcher family would be eager to acknowledge this marriage.

Nelson’s lips curved into a slight smile. He had never blamed her. Mick went unnoticed, and his eyes grew heavy with gloom. 

Just now, he had hoped to share their marriage announcement, which could also serve as an

She couldn’t help but smile. “Well then, Ted, shall we?” she said coyly as she reached out and 

took his hand.
