Chapter 88 

“That’s enough. I want to be frugal. All the other kids do the same,” Norman said, trying to 

act mature. 

Nadia thought about it for a moment. These clothes would only be worn at school, but if there were any formal events or other occasions, Norman would need to wear those ridiculously expensive outfits. 

“Alright then. We’ll go with what you said.” 

Nadia couldn’t resist Norman’s pleading and immediately led him upstairs. 

As they reached the luxury goods floor, they spotted Mona. 

Mona was 

filming an ad, and the area was being cleared for the shoot. Nadia had planned to take Norman to another floor, but Mona called out to her. 

“Nadia, I can get you one or two pieces if you like something. I know you’ll say you have money, but Mick’s payment hasn’t come through yet. You shouldn’t be spending too much in advance–what if something unexpected happens…” 

Her words implied that Mick might not pay the agreed amount when the divorce happened. Nadia gritted her teeth in anger. She decided that the moment she left the mall, she would contact her lawyer to prepare the materials and file for divorce directly. 

“You haven’t bought new clothes for the season, have you? Try this one on. Consider it my gift to you, so don’t feel shy about it.” 

Mona casually picked out a black dress, plain and unremarkable. When worn, it would look cheap. 

Nadia suddenly smiled, “If you’re giving it to me, at least let me like it. I’ll take this one.” 

She reached out and grabbed a red fringed gown. “I like this one.” 

The nearby sales associate gasped, “That’s our store’s highlight piece!” 

Because of the ad shoot today, they had only let the model wear it for the promotional shoot. 

“Oh? That’s fine. Ms. Poole is generous. You can have her charge it to your account,” Nadia 

said with a smile. 

Mona had intended to humiliate her, assuming that Nadia would get angry but refuse to accept anything from her. But to her surprise, her thick skin had only gotten thicker after Nadia’s divorce, and now Mona found herself outplayed. 

However, having already said it, she couldn’t back down and was forced to ask through gritted teeth. 

“How much is 17 

The sales associate quoted, “30 thousand.” 

“What?” Mona thought she had misheard. 

She was the spokesperson for a mid–range–luxury line. The most expensive pieces cost only a few thousand dollars. This sales associate must have gone crazy. 

The sales associate explained, “This is a work by the famous designer Lizzie. There’s only one in the world.” 

Nadia smiled as if being considerate, “Ms. Poole, if you can’t afford it, that’s alright.” 

“Ah, my two million hasn’t been transferred because I’ve had no relationship with Mick for a long time.” 

“But you’re Mick’s first love. You mean your feelings for him aren’t worth 30 thousand? “You’re not even as good as someone about to get a divorce. You’re really miserable.” 

Mona’s anger was so intense. She was shaking with rage. 

“But you’re so generous. Thank you for the dress” Nadia added, delivering a blow with a 

smile.
