As soon as Ted heard Mona’s words, he immediately looked in that direction. 

He instinctively opened his mouth. “Mom… Mom” 

His voice started loud but faded to a whisper by the end, barely audible to him. Was that clown really Nadia? 

He looked around at the other parents. Some were dressed as Ice Princess, others as fairies, and the most outrageous was a beautiful witch. 

But Nadia? She was so ugly that he couldn’t bear to show his face in front of his classmates. If he went over to talk to her now, his classmates would definitely laugh at him. 

He didn’t want to be known as the clown’s son. If that happened, he wouldn’t be able to go to school anymore. 

Thinking this, the excitement on his face disappeared. He obediently shut his mouth and stood beside the impeccably dressed Mona. 

Nadia was focused on the little clown magic trick that Norman was performing and didn’t notice the father and son. 

She watched as Norman made a balloon, patiently guiding him. “You need to pull your hands back to give the impression that the balloon is being pulled out from your sleeve.” 

Norman’s eyes sparkled as he watched her demonstrate, his little hands clapping with excitement. “Ms. Vega, you’re amazing!” 

Nadia felt a bit guilty. She had only learned this at the last minute by watching a video online. Flustered by the praise, she smiled awkwardly. 

Norman leaned closer to her and whispered, “Strange… Why hasn’t Uncle Eddie come yet?” 

Nadia thought for a moment. Getting someone like Eddie to dress up as a clown seemed a bit 

much. 

She comforted him, saying, “Don’t you want to have fun with me and light up the whole place? Do you want Uncle Eddie to control us?” 

Norman immediately agreed with her logic. “That’s awesome! Now I can have fun!” 

After his excitement, a little sigh appeared on his face. “I really hope Uncle Eddie marries someone soon, and then I’ll be free!” 

Nadia raised an eyebrow. “How does he marrying someone make you ‘free‘?”

Norman grinned mischievously and whispered in her ear, “If my uncle has a wife, he won’t bother with me anymore.” 

Nadia was confused. That didn’t seem to add up. 

“Isn’t it possible that your uncle manages a lot of companies? Having one more wife probably wouldn’t affect him much?” 

Norman’s eyes went wide in realization. 

Oh yeah! How had he never thought of that? It felt like a thunderbolt had struck him. The tuft of hair on his head drooped. 

Nadia, exasperated, rubbed his head. “I was just joking. Maybe-” 

“Maybe if you become my uncle’s wife, I’ll still be free!” 

Nadia’s face immediately turned bright red. “What are you even saying?” 

“Really!” Norman was already daydreaming about the future. “If you marry my uncle, I can 

ask you to cover for me when I want to go out and play! You’ll take me with you!”
