“Mom, don’t worry. When Uncle Gavin gets here, I’ll pretend to be sick. I won’t let him go back to that bitch’s side.”
“Harry, you’re so good. Don’t let Mom down.”
“I really hate that bitch and her daughter. If it weren’t for them, Mom, you and Uncle Gavin would have been together long ago.”
Gavin’s heart nearly exploded with anger after hearing their conversation.
If he hadn’t heard it with his own ears, he would never have believed it.
He had always thought that Chad was a well-behaved child, but now he realized how ill-mannered he was behind his back, calling someone a “bitch” repeatedly.
And the so-called “illness” was just an excuse to lure him there.
How foolish had he been to be manipulated by this mother and son for so long?
Filled with rage, Gavin could no longer hold back. He pushed open the door, his face ashen, and shouted, “Enough!”
Susan, startled, lost all color in her face. She quickly stood up from the bed, “Gavin, you’re finally here…?”
“Harry kept saying his head hurt. I didn’t know what to do…” Susan said, looking anxious.
Seeing her acting so helpless, Gavin felt disgusted.
If he hadn’t heard it with his own ears, he wouldn’t have known how good she was at pretending.
“Enough, stop pretending. I heard everything you said just now.” He pressed his hand to his forehead, exhausted. “I’ve always taken care of you because of Chad.”
“Now I have my own family. I won’t be coming over anymore. And I’m not a fool, so don’t use the ‘sick’ excuse to trick me.”
“You heard everything?” Susan rushed over, hugging Gavin tightly around the waist. “I’m sorry, I was just so afraid of losing you. Harry is so young, and he lost his father…”
“Get off!” Gavin was agitated and pushed Susan off him.
Susan screamed in pain, falling heavily onto the floor.
Harry, seeing all this, immediately jumped off the bed and grabbed a nearby toy, throwing it at Gavin’s forehead.
“I won’t let you bully my mom!”
The sharp edges of the toy left a deep gash on Gavin’s forehead.
He expressionlessly wiped away the blood and looked at Harry, who was glaring at him with hatred. He said nothing and turned to leave.
After moving out of Gavin’s place, I took Yara to stay at my parents' house.
