I froze in place, the words I wanted to explain on the tip of my tongue, but I couldn't bring myself to say them.
Eva threw herself into Elon's arms, crying uncontrollably.
"Mr. Gray, I just wanted to bring the child to meet his future mother, but she called my child an illegitimate child, saying he's not worthy of competing for the family inheritance with her little one!"
"I never meant for my child to fight for inheritance, but if Natalie can't accept him, I'll take him away now!"
Elon's face turned cold, and he grabbed my collar, immediately slapping me without hesitation.
"Natalie, since I adopted Christian, he is my child. Whether you accept it or not, you have to treat him well!"
I covered my face, my eyes blurry with tears, looking at him.
Before I could explain myself, little one suddenly lunged at Christian, fighting with him.
He kept crying out:
"Don't, don't bully mommy, bad woman!"
Elon's face darkened, and he suddenly kicked little one away.
I screamed and rushed over, but I was too late.
little one's head hit the edge of the table, and blood poured out instantly.
I trembled as I held him, trying to cover his wound.
But the blood kept flowing, more and more.
I helplessly lifted my eyes and cried out to Elon:
"Please, save our little one!"
Elon was about to come forward to pick little one up, but Eva screamed and grabbed his hand.
"Mr. Gray, Christian's face is bleeding. What if he gets a scar?"
Elon turned around, and only then did he notice the slight scratch on Eva's son's face.
He hesitated for a moment but ultimately chose to pick up Christian and quickly headed toward the door.
A sharp pain shot through my chest.
I fought to hold back the pain, stumbling behind them.
Before we could get on the ambulance, Elon reached out to stop me.
A flicker of guilt flashed in his eyes, but his tone was unusually firm.
