“Move,” one of the men growled, giving Jim a push that sent him stumbling forward. His knees hit the ground with a dull thud, and he cried out in pain. 

He was dragged the rest of the way to Annie’s feet. 

Annie took a few slow steps forward, her heels clicking against the floor like a countdown to doom. She stopped just inches away from him, her head cocked as she stared down at him in a mixture of disgust and amusement. The guy who had seemed intriguing now looked so pitiful, robbed of all the bravado during those intimate times. 

“So, this is the great Jim,” Annie drawled out in a voice smooth with sarcasm. “Look at you now. Pathetic.” 

Jim’s lips quivered, but no words came out. He tried to look away, but one of the men held his face in place. 

Sweat poured down Jim’s face, his breath coming in short, ragged gasps as fear consumed him. The sheer terror etched across his features sent a thrill coursing through Annie’s veins. She licked her lips. Her body tingled with the dark excitement she had not felt in years. God, she loved this, the raw power she had over him made her feel alive in a way nothing else could. 

Her mind wandered for a moment to the rough men around her hulking forms guarding her like silent statues. For a moment, she almost pictured dragging one into a corner, using his rough tongue to calm the ache in her pussy. But no. She fisted her hands and pushed the thought away. It was that kind of indulgence that had got her into this mess in the first place, and she wasn’t about to make things worse. 

Besides, there was only one man who could quench her growing hunger, and that was Alexander. She smirked to herself imagining his strong hands on her, his body pressed against hers. Annie stepped closer to Jim, towering over him. The disgust on her face twisted into a cruel, cocky smile as she raised her hand and slapped him hard across the face. 

“You shouldn’t have messed with someone like me,” she snarled, the venom dripping from her voice. Without a hint of mercy, she planted her sharp heel into his face. He let out a groan and fell on his back as blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. His body began to shiver. 

Jim struggled to push himself up, his arms shaking under his weight. Annie tilted her head, her eyes gleaming with a predatory light. She loved this, seeing him broken, helpless, completely at her mercy. 

“Get him up,” she barked at her men. “Tie him to that chair.” 

Two of the men stepped forward, hauling Jim to his feet like he weighed nothing. He thrashed weakly, but it was no use. They shoved him into a chair and bound his wrists, legs and ankles with thick ropes, ensuring he couldn’t move. Satisfied, Annie dismissed her men with a wave of her hand. 

“Leave us,” she commanded. “I’ll deal with him myself.”

In less than thirty minutes, the seminar was scheduled to start, and the building buzzed with energy. People were arriving from all parts of the world, their presence testifying to the importance of the event. Security was as tight as ever, with guards at every entrance and cameras at every corridor. 

Emma sat hunched over her desk, covered with towering stacks of files, her brow furrowed in concentration. She had been buried in her work for hours, completely losing track of time, and the growl of her empty stomach reminded her that she had skipped lunch.

Her personal assistant stepped into the office, a polite smile on her face. “Ma’am, the seminar is starting in less than fifteen minutes. Guests are already settling in.” 

Emma looked up, momentarily disoriented before nodding. “Thank you. I’ll be there shortly.” 

The assistant stepped away, and Emma exhaled loudly, massaging her temples. Her responsibilities weighed heavily on her, but there was no time to give in to it. She flipped open the file before her and scanned the pages with practiced efficiency. Satisfied, she signed it and rose from her chair. Shaking off the fatigue, she squared her shoulders and left the office. 

Emma decided to take a quick stroll around the company before joining the seminar. It wasn’t just about making an impression; she had to ensure that everything was running smoothly. 

The employees nodded at her respectfully as she passed, and she responded with a nod or a small smile.

Even on a regular day, gaining access to the building was nearly impossible for someone without clearance. But Derek was not just anyone but a man who had spent many years working there, wandering along each corridor and memorizing every corner. 

He moved with a grim determination, his bag slung over his shoulder. His heart pounded, not with fear but with anticipation.
