Jaden walked into his father’s company with a cup of coffee in his hand. It’s been weeks since he had let go of Emma, and it still hurts. His heart aches every single second, and sometimes he wishes he hadn’t let go of her, but he believes that he has done the right thing. 

There was no reason to hold on to a girl who is in love with another man. It would only make both of their lives miserable. 

But it hurt more whenever he remembered that Emma didn’t even call back or text him. She has really moved on and forgotten him. 

He took a sip of his coffee as he strolled down to his father’s office with an envelope in his hand, ignoring the greetings of the workers. 

There was no need to interact with anyone since today would be his last day there. 

Knocking once, he stepped inside his father’s office, bowed slightly, and dropped the envelope on the table. 

He hadn’t been active at work, but he had decided to make it formal and give Jake the peace of mind he had been scrambling for. 

His father tore the envelope and read through the resignation letter his own son had submitted with furrowed brows and a tightened jaw; his face turned red with anger and disgust, and his grip on the resignation letter tightened. 

He knew about what had happened between Jaden and Emma, but this wasn’t the right decision. 

Jaden’s influence has helped his company to get to where it is now; he couldn’t, no, he wouldn’t let Jaden leave. 

He tore the resignation letter into tiny, uncountable pieces, his heart racing with anger, and glared at his fourth son with a cold expression that could freeze even the coldest of hearts. “I’m not permitting it.” 

Jaden shrugged his shoulder, and without saying anything, he left. His father’s denials were none of his concern. He had only done it for formality’s sake in the first place. 

“Come back here!” His father shouted, rising to his feet as he slammed his fist hard on his office table; the sound echoed through many offices, making some workers jump to their feet in shock and fear. But Jaden was done with everyone and everything. 

He just wanted to live his life in silence for the rest of his life. 

He raced to his apartment and began packing his bags, which took him several hours to do. 

But as he was loading them into his car, a car pulled up to his garage, and Jeremy, Jaden’s younger brother as well as the Fernandos‘ youngest son, stepped out of his car, his face filled with anger and disbelief. 

“You can’t be serious!” He thundered as he approached Jaden. 

“Watch me and see.” 

“Mom called, says you are leaving. Dad is in a bad mood.” 

“He will get over it, and you…” Jaden scoffed. “Why do you suddenly care? I’m sure you’re jumping on the inside now that I’m leaving.”
