It was the number you were told to memorize when you were a kid before it was changed to her current one. Gabriel opens his mouth like a big mole who digs through its ceiling to the ground by accident.

“Mom…?” Gabriel stammers, looking at Anna like a lost boy. He doesn’t know how he could not fall into Scar’s trap.

Ava purses her lips, but instead of looking at Anna with puppy dog eyes like Gabriel as if Anna could somehow get out of it, Ava darts her eyes to her father, as if looking for a solution rather than an explanation—
