Lucy’s anger escalated quickly. She slapped me a few more times, then kicked me hard in the stomach.

I desperately shielded my stomach, feeling the baby’s distress and panic.

"I'm sorry, my baby," I cried, trying to comfort and protect the little one growing inside me. "You worked so hard to come to me, and Mommy wasn’t able to protect you properly."

I curled up, tears streaming down my face, and stopped talking back. I no longer resisted, only hoping that Lucy's anger would eventually subside and she’d let us go.

As long as my child was safe, I was willing to endure any humiliation.

But Lucy wasn’t finished. Her best friend, a ruthless woman, continued to whisper and egg her on.

“The key is to make sure there are no loose ends. She’s learned her lesson not to be a mistress again. As for the child, the law will take care of it.”

Those words seemed to stir something in Lucy. I glared at her friend, hatred burning in my eyes, and took mental note of her face.

The woman sneered, chewing gum defiantly, and spat toward me.

“What the hell are you looking at? Don’t you dare look at me again, you filthy mistress! Dare to look again? Go on, try!”

Lucy’s gaze turned cold and calculating as she stared at my stomach.

“Yes, you’re right,” she said with a menacing tone. “She’s a mistress. I’ll teach her a lesson. If I let her have this sinful child, it won’t be a proper lesson.”

Hearing their chilling words, I could only beg and plead.

“Please, you can beat me, you can scold me, but don’t hurt my baby. If you want money or a car, I can give it to you. Just please spare my child!”

Lucy sneered. “Money? How dare you offer me money like charity? All the money you’ve spent is my man’s money! You’re nothing!”

“What?!” Lucy was taken aback. “What do you mean you don’t want me to work anymore? Aren’t you going to see me? I’m your personal secretary.”

“We’re adults here. We’re just having fun. Why make a big deal out of it?”

With that, Jack hung up, and Lucy’s phone rang with the notification of three million dollars being transferred.

Instead of being pleased, Lucy’s rage turned toward me.

“Great! Now that you’re pregnant, you’re dumping me with three million dollars? What do you think I am?!”

Her eyes burned with fury as she glared at my stomach.

“Do you think Jack would even look at you again if your baby were gone?”
