Caroline’s muffled cries filled the dimly lit room, blending with David’s deep, heavy breaths.

“David, I despise you! I will never forgive you!” 

Her voice trembled with pure fury. She couldn’t find the words to express how much she loathed him. All she could do was scream those same words over and over. 

“I know,” David said simply. “Hate me all you want. It won’t change anything. You’re mine.” 

David’s patience was unshakable, his tone unusually soft. No matter how hard Caroline fought–how she screamed, how she clawed at him–he remained unfazed, his lips curved in quiet satisfaction. 

Caroline sobbed as she struck his chest, her nails dragging viciously across his back, leaving raw, angry welts in her wake. Some scratches cut so deep that beads of blood seeped through his skin. 

David didn’t flinch. He didn’t even feel the pain.

David sighed, his lips brushing against her temple. 

“I had to have you first, Caroline–only then could I truly love you more.” 

The words made her stomach twist. What kind of twisted reasoning was that? Unforgivable. 

Caroline bit down hard on her lip, the bitter taste of blood filling her mouth.
