CHAPTER ELEVEN

*****************

BRINLEY.

It was pushing midnight when most of the guests started to leave. Some of the guests were staying in the guest rooms in the palace. Julia and the other girls stayed to clean up the mess from the party; they all agreed I'd been through enough and didn't have to help. Julia told me to go to the pond and see if Thomas would be there. I've been sitting on a blanket looking at the pond for over thirty minutes. Thomas still hadn't shown.

Amanda and Gabriel were among the few guests that stayed at the palace. Along with Mark Mortaga, who has a meeting with Kyle first thing. I knew Gabriel meant what he said; he would have me one way or another. But that's not what terrified me, no—the thought of me living in the Mortaga kingdom and being the King's sex slave.

The one thing I am afraid of is losing Thomas forever.

A smile formed on my lips when I smelled the mouthwatering scent of woods and honey. "508." "Thomas," I said as he sat down beside me. Sadly he was not wearing his suit, just jeans and a shirt that strained against his muscles. Also, his hair was down tonight, with no bun.

"You showed up. I didn't think you would." He sighs, running a hand through his long hair. "I wasn't going to after what I saw." I frown, "What do you mean?" "Don't act innocent." My frown deepened. I had no idea what Thomas was talking about. "I have no idea what you're talking about," I tell him. "You being so desperate, that's what I'm talking about,"

"And exactly what are you insinuating?" He clenched and unclenched his jaw. "Thomas?"

"You let some loser Alpha touch you." I swallowed hard, "I didn't," I shook my head. "I saw you. Don't lie to me," He raised his voice, making me cringe. "He wouldn't leave me alone. Yes! he touched me and said nasty things to me. But I never let him do any of it." "You didn't try and stop him,"

Stop him?

"What was I supposed to do? Slap him? Cause another scene at the King's party? Thomas, the man, has us dressing slutty for men to buy us," Thomas's forehead creased, "You think he makes you dress like so he could sell you?" I nodded, "Kyle got offers on two girls tonight," I told him. He parted in shock. "What?" "Two girls sold tonight," I repeated.

"Who?" He asked. "Beth, her number is 200. And.." I paused, taking a deep breath, "Me. 508." Thomas was breathing ragged and fisting his palms, "I'll kill him." finally, he said and rose to his feet. "Thomas, no," I chased after him. I grab his wrist to try to stop him when he slams me against a tree. I've never seen Thomas this angry before, and honestly, I'm terrified.

"I will rip the bastard's throat out if he thinks he can sell my mate."

"Thomas,"

His hand grips my chin tightly, forcing me to look at him. "That's why that Alpha was all over you." He says. "You don't know anything. "You got it all wrong," He inches himself closer. "I watched the way you reacted when he touched you. The way you shivered," He said, running his fingers up in down my arm. Tingles spread across my skin, along with goosebumps.

"You wanted him,"

Fuck. I can't say that didn't hurt.
