The Alpha's Special Mate novel Chapter 7

Jace's POV

Ever since I laid eyes on Skylar in the forest I haven't been able to get her out of my mind. Every time I smell her delicious apple cinnamon scent it sends my wolf into a frenzy howling, purring, and chanting something I can't quite make out. When ever me and Skylar touch I feel sparks and fireworks flow through out my body from where ever she touches me. I can't seem to get her our of my head and when I try to I always seem to run into her, it seems like something is pulling us together by an invisible thread. Whenever I see Skylar it sends my wolf and my heart into overdrive, as the days pass and the more time Skylar and I spend together the more intense the feelings and sparks become and the more I don't like any other male looking or touching her. I know she feels them too I just wish I knew if she felt the same way about me as I do her.

I awoke to the most delicious scent of apples and cinnamon pounding on my door asking me to meet her in the training grounds for some extra training. I yell through the door that I'll meet her at the training grounds in 10 minutes. I shower and get dressed in record time, as I'm heading to the training grounds I realize that I am subconsciously following her scent there. Once at the training grounds I watch her finish her run before we begin working on some extra training, we work on some offensive and defensive moves as well as working on some wrestling moves just to keep things interesting. I trained with Skylar for 3 hours with her beating me 80% of the time, once she pins me for the last time strong sparks flow through our bodies and our eyes go wide letting me know that she feels them too. I flip us over so I am now staring down at her, after the shock fades from her eyes it gets replaced with happiness, confusion, and wonder.

“Mate” I say breathlessly to her.

“Mate? But how can we be mates when my mate rejected me?” Skylar whines in disbelief

When she mentions that bastard I growl “MINE” at her.

She looks at me and hesitantly puts her hand on my cheek calming me down instantly as I lean into her amazing touch. As we lay there staring at each other Lucas my beta walks in and clears his throat which makes me growl as me and Skylar scramble to stand awkwardly side by side. Skylar then excuses herself and goes to leave but before she can I grab her hand and ask her to meet me in my office in an hour so I can talk to her, she nods to me as she leave the training grounds and heads back to the pack house.

“What do you want Lucas?” I growl out through gritted teeth as I glare at him for interrupting.

“We received a call from the Silver Moon Pack requesting our help to train their wolves. It seems that they need some extra training seeing as they are having a difficulty defending themselves from some increased rogue attacks” my beta informs me

“When do they want us there?” I question

“Monday, which gives you the time to tell Skylar that we have to go and train her old pack.” he says to me scared of the though of how Skylar will react.

I lightly chuckle at him for a moment before leaving to go and shower and get dressed before I have to meet Skylar in my office to explain to her about is being mates. Then I need to come up with a way to tell her about is having to go and train her old pack and to brace for her reaction knowing it will not be a good one. After I shower and get dresses I head to my office to wait for Skylar to get there and not even 5 minutes later I hear a soft knock on my door.

“Come in” I say and in enters a very confused Skylar. I look at her with adoration in my eyes as I look her up and down enjoying the way she looks and seeing just how much she has changed since she's been with us. As she sits in one of the chairs in front of my desk she clears her throat nervously before asking me what's been nagging at her mind since I called her my mate.

“How can we be mates when I already have a mate even though he rejected me?” Skylar says with immense sadness at the recollection of what her first mate did to her.

“Well it means that I am your second chance mate.” I state, when I glance at her I see her staring at me with confusion clear as day on her face.

“How can that be I thought second chance mates were a myth?” She says looking at me with confusion and disbelief swirling in those beautiful eyes of hers.
