The Alpha's Special Mate novel Chapter 8

Skylar's POV

After finding out that Jace is my second chance mate I freak out and run out of his office afraid that he's going to reject me as well, I run to the only place I like to go to be alone. When I get tot the clearing that's only a mile behind the pack house I stand there in shock and look up at the night sky and cry. I knew Jace had followed me and I didn't really care I just hugged myself and stood there sniffling from the tears when I hear him slowly approaching me as he says.

“Darling why did you run away from me?” I heard him ask slowly and gently trying to not scare me into running away again

“Because I know what you were going to do I knew that you were going to reject me just like he did because who could ever want someone like me?” I said insecurely as I started crying again

“I would never ever reject you love, you are the most beautiful, sexy, confident, and perfect person I know and I am extremely grateful that you are my mate 'cause I wouldn't want anyone else to be my mate but you, no one could or would ever measure up to you your perfect.” He said tilting my face up to look into his so that I could see that he was telling me the truth and then he said something that showed me just how true his words were.

“I, Jace Miller, accept you Skylar Rose as my mate and future Luna of the Night Shade Pack.” Jace said lovingly and nervously probably not knowing what I would say or how I was going to react.

As I stood there staring at him in bewilderment I hugged him and whispered into his shoulder the one thing I knew would make him extremely happy “I, Skylar Rose, accept you Jace Miller as my mate and Alpha.” As I felt his hands slowly move up my body from my waist making sparks fly from everywhere he touched me until he had a hand cupping my cheek and the other one tangled in my blood red hair. Then the next thing I knew he was kissing me softly and then I kissed him back happily deepening the kiss as he pulled me to him even more. When he pulled away he put his forehead against mine we were panting for air admiring each others perfect facial features before we walked back to the pack house hand in hand.

When we got back he lead me back to his office and sat me on his lap in his chair so I had my back resting against his chest and he was hugging my waist with his face burried in the crook of my neck and breathing in my scent in like I was going to somehow vanish at any moment. I could feel him relaxing a bit before he tensed up before asking me a question.

“So how do you feel about us being mates” Jace asked me hesitantly which had me on edge thinking that something bad was going to happen

I told him that I was very happy that we were mates and how I was grateful to have him in my life which made me blush like a tomato. When I felt him tense up more I turned my body so I was sitting sideways on his lap with my head in his shoulder so I could breath in his scent which relaxed me before I asked him what was wrong knowing he had something he had to tell me and I knew whatever it was, was probably going to upset me which was making him nervous and tense.
