-HER-

I wake up tired and in a bad mood. I was up late last night because I couldn't sleep. I almost scream when I look at the time. I am terribly late but what surprises me that mum did not wake me up.

I go through my morning routine, knowing that I'd miss my first class. I climb downstairs to find the house empty. I find a note from mum on the fridge saying that she left for work early. It explains why no one woke me up on time.

I swallow half of my breakfast before I finally leave the house in a rush. I had to wait for the bus and the train seems to be late too. I am sure I'd be missing the second class too.

I check my phone when I reach college. I am surprised to find so many texts from Lisa.

9:10- where r u?

9:15- r u coming today?

9:19-???

9:43- Cybele, r u coming? Plz, reply.

I scroll through all her unread messages. Though my heart stops beating when I read her last message which sent not long ago.

10:13- they're asking for u!

I stop on my tracks and reread her last text several times. What does she mean by they are asking for me? Are we caught? Have they found out that we did it?

The screen of my phone instantly lights up with her face on it, raising my panic even more. I waited for a few moments before finally receiving the call.

"Hello?" I said breathily.

"Cybele?" Lisa's urgent voice answers.

"Where are you Cybele? Are you coming today?" She asks.

"I am at college, why?" I ask as I walk towards the building.

"Cybele, Holly gave our names. I am going to the office now. Tell others," She speaks. My heart stutters at this. My mind is racing, thinking about the consequences while the anxiety is back.

"I... Lisa, where are you?" I ask. She must have heard the panic in my voice because she assures, "It's going to be alright. Just tell Troy and Ivy. They'll manage,"

"Do I need to go to the office too?" I ask in a panic. Her words did not have any effect on me whatsoever. I take a turn to go towards the main building when I run into someone.

"Hello, I am Jake Emerson, the president of the student's council. Is this Cybele Galanis?" A very melodic yet masculine voice speaks. Hearing him speak my name instantly melts my insides. My heart flutters in my chest and I feel the butterflies in my stomach.

What is happening?

I met him just yesterday and I swear he did not have this effect on me. In fact, he did not have any effect on me. I was rather very annoyed by him and wish to never see him again. I don't realize that I have fallen down the deep hole of my thoughts, leaving his question hanging.

"Yes," I breathe after a moment's pause. Silence follows my answer before he speaks gently, "You are required to come to my office. I believe you are very familiar with that place," There's a hint of amusement in his voice which doesn't go unnoticed by me.

He knows. He finally knows that it's me.

"Ok," I mutter before cutting the call and looking in the mirror. This is it. I am caught.

I take a deep breath and collect myself before I leave the washroom and head towards the office which I had helped vandalize a couple of days ago. My heart is drumming in my chest and my stomach is churning by the time I am in the hallway to his office.

I halt in front of his office and try to calm my racing heart. When I step inside, the air around me shifts. It charges up with so much tension. I feel his eyes on me before my own eyes find his black ones. I freeze in my place as something shifts inside me.

"Cybele,"
