The Beta's Catch novel Chapter 52

She blushes instantly as soon as I peck her lips. I want to sweep her into my arms and shower her with more kisses. My wolf wants to be with her too. I am aware that he has slowly started to get impatient around her.

"I'll make sure you have a good time," I tell her and her blush deepens.

I couldn't be happier that she finally gave me a chance. I am willing to do everything to let her know how much she means to me. I've finally got her and I am very much reluctant to let her go.

I glance at her to find her staring out of the window. We are almost in Cold Town. Here, we have a small office of Werewolf council and currently, I am headed there. They have sent something for me from the council.

I soon pull over in front of the small office building. I help her get out of the car before I take her inside the office building. She is busy looking around while I am careful enough to not miss her reaction. I want to know everything about her and how she feels about everything. She is still a huge mystery to me.

When she finds me staring at her, she looks away instantly. A smile instantly climbs on my lips and I couldn't help but wrap my arm around her waist.

"Beta Jake," A wolf greets me at the reception. I let out a small growl when his eyes linger on my mate longer than necessary. My arm instantly tightens around my mate. His head instantly snaps towards me before he mind-links me, 'Humans are not allowed here, Beta Jake. You know the protocol,'

'She is my mate,' I tell him and nods lightly before guiding us to the lift and pressing the buttons for us. I don't miss how her curious eyes are scanning the whole place. Everything is very new to her.

As soon as the lift door closes, she turns to asks me, "Why were you two staring at each other?" Her hazel eyes peer at me innocently. She seems to pure and untouched. I want to claim every inch of her. The wait is slowly killing me.

"We were mind-linking," I inform her after I gain control over my thoughts. I instantly know she is going to ask me what that means so I explain her further, "Mind-linking is one of the special powers we have. I can talk to the wolves of my pack through this connection that everyone in the pack has with each other,"

She takes her time to process the information before she asks, "Would I be able to mind-link with you?" Her question is so very innocent and sweet. I am finding it hard to keep my beast tamed.

I smirk at her instead and she blushes instantly, "I wish that was possible but we would have the bond once we complete the mating process," I tell her instead.

"Okay," She mumbles before she looks away. My chest rumbles with a growl before I bury my nose in her hair and breathe her in. Her intoxicating scent instantly calms my beast. The fact that she smells somewhat like me too makes me grow more possessive towards her.

"Oh, Cybele..." I grumble before placing my other hand under her chin and tipping it up until she is looking at me. Another growl escapes my lips before they crash on hers. She moans into my mouth as I plaster her body against mine.

I want to feel every inch of her. I wish I could have her now. For a split second, my wolf pushes me back before he takes over me. Under his influence, I find myself deepening the kiss before she could properly respond to me.

My tongue passes her lips before finding hers. The sparks are so strong, they sound like the low hum of a highly charged electric wire. She slowly starts to move her lips against mine. I give her some time before I run my tongue over her lower lip and suck it hard. Her next moan is swallowed by me as well.

"Is there anything else?" I ask him and he nods, "I'll pass the word to the council about your mate. They'd want to see her on their visit,"

"She wouldn't meet them if she doesn't want to," I tell him sternly.

"Well, that's not something for you or her to decide... you can go now," He dismisses me. I don't leave before shooting him a glare. My wolf is mad at him. I step out of his office without saying anything before walking straight to the waiting area.

She is waiting there for me already. I slip my hand into hers before locking my fingers and leading her to the lift. I grind my teeth as we descend down the building. I couldn't believe that they could be such pushovers.

"What happened, Jake?" She asks looking at me innocently. Her eyes widen as soon as she sees my eyes darken. It takes all the patience in me to lead her out of the building. As soon as I am inside the car, I throw the envelope in the backseat and pull her into my lap.

She doesn't protest. Instead, she is looking at me with great worry. I could never choose anyone other than her. No one could ever replace her. She is mine and I will do everything to keep her mine.

"Jake?" She whispers.

"I want only you," I tell her before my lips are on her again.
