"We should go now," I tell him gently after recovering from my sexual sigh. He groans against me before letting his hands fall from my waist. I slowly shift back to the passenger seat before putting on the seat belt. Meanwhile, he watches me warily, his eyes overflowing with possessiveness.
"Let's go?" He sighs before adjusting his seat and putting on his seat belt. He then starts the engine. The drive back is silent at first. After some time, I try asking him again but his answers are mostly dismissing and don't give anything away.
"So, you're already hiding stuff from me, mate?" I cross my hands on my chest while I give him a determined look. His head instantly snaps to me. Whenever I call him mate, it seems to have an immense effect on him.
His eyes considerably darken while they overflow with possessiveness.
"I am not hiding stuff from you, Cybele," He states, turning his attention back to the road. Meanwhile, his jaw is clicking. Just by having a look at him, I can tell that he is still pissed due to whatever the hell happened in the office.
"You kinda are," I press.
"Cybele," He breathes, "I will tell you everything when it's time. I don't want to mess this up... please," There's something in his voice which is urging me to abandon the matter. Is he using some sort of werewolf charm on me? Is he capable of doing that?
I narrow my eyes at him while he is concentrating on the road.
"Will you tell me this weekend? When I am at your place?" My question is followed by silence. I can tell that he is thinking about it. I don't know why but suddenly I can predict his behaviour. Is it because of the mating bond? I still need to know a lot.
"I will," He promises after some time. By now, we have left Itaville and are now back in Ontmore. He is driving me home.
"Promise?" I place a hand on his bicep. He glances at me before grumbling, "I promise,"
"Great," I couldn't help but chirp at this small victory. Could it be called so? I think yes because if anything I have learned about him so far, it is, that if he intends on keeping something secret then he'll do everything to keep it that way. Although, in general, he is a very open guy.
"We've done enough for today, Jake," I frown as soon as he stops at the turning of the road to my house. As I am about to undo my seatbelt, I could feel him getting ready to snatch me back into his lap and kiss me breathless. It seems to be becoming a routine for us now.
"Please, Cybele," He groans. His hands are already on my either side to grab me.
"No," I tell him, turning to the door and reaching for it. I instantly hear him groan. A giggle almost escapes my lips before I look over his shoulder and add, "Not today,"
I bite my lower lip as his eyes darken even more. He seems to have gotten the idea because the corner of his lip tugs up into a sly smirk. His eyes are simmering with possessiveness when he says, "I will take you from College on Friday. You wouldn't leave until Monday," It sounds more like a command.
"That'd be too much, Jake," I frown slightly though I am very much convinced by his plan. Just by looking in his eyes, I can tell that the wheels in his head are already spinning.
"See you on Friday evening then," He says instead before the door behind me clicks. He pecks my lips and grins at me, leaving no more room for any further debate. My frown deepens as I open the door and step out of the car.
He waits until I have stepped on our lawn. I sigh deeply, missing him instantly. I know that we are progressing by a tremendous speed but I cannot help it because of the bond. Each day it seems to grow stronger. I just cannot ignore it anymore and I don't want to ignore it anymore either.
I am happy after a seemingly long time. It's not like my life was grey before I vandalized Jake's office. I mean it somewhat was due to what went down at the fresher's party. It had been a huge blow to my self-esteem. Having overachieving siblings didn't help me either but with Jake, I feel confident.
I again cannot tell if it's the mate bond or if it's due to his attention and kindness. I just feel happier and better whenever I am with him. I am starting to love this. I am starting to love him.
