"I deserve that, I'm not forcing you to stay I just hope you give me the chance," Nick said.
"I know that it might sound like an excuse, but I spend most of this evening at the police station, before you blow me off completely it wasn't me, but I needed to give statements to officers regarding an employee of mine. Didn't, is still don't have my phone"
I widened my eyes.
"By the time I got out and tried to get in contact with you, it was already too late, I am sorry that you wasted your night, I completely understand" Nick carried on his hand going behind his neck pressing down.
I could see that he was tired, anyone could see that. I pushed my chair standing up. I walked over to Nick and pushed my leg between his. His hands instantly touched my skin as I wrapped my fingers around his neck.
I think I surprised both of us when I leaned down and kissed him. "what happened?" I said when I leaned back.
"My assistant manager is being accused of murder, well helping in a murder I was his alibi" I was surprised that he actually told me, normally you're supposed to keep quiet about these things, but it made me realise that he trusted me.
"is that a real alibi or are you helping him" he glared at me his hand tightening around my leg.
"that hurts" he said feigning hurt that I would even suggest that he was helping out a criminal.
I raised my hands up "I had to ask didn't I" he nodded "I know"
"I don't want tonight to end Nick, I dressed up for nothing" I pouted finally sitting on his lap. He rubbed my thighs. "hmm, what do you want to do its late" he said as I played with his hair.
He was right it was late, there wasn't many places open or taking reservations.
"you know what I have any idea, c'mon let's go" he stood up forcing me off his lap. I stared at him as he went to grab a jacket. I was surprised when he came back with another which he wrapped over my shoulders.
"we're walking?" I asked him as we passed his car. I wasn't prepared to walk. First he leaves me waiting for him and now ere walking to god knows where.
"the place I want to go to isn't far, c'mon plus you look sexy walking in those heels" he said grabbing my hand and bringing up to his lips.
I followed him. I never experienced walking around the city late at night mostly because its just not safe for women to be walking alone at night.
It was beautiful though.
"I'm sure all the homeless people enjoy it too" I said to him, walking with a little skip in my step. I laughed when he grabbed my waist and brought me to stand in front of him. "you're right" he whispered into my ear walking directly behind me.
Finally, after 10 minutes of walking we arrived. He opened the door for me and let me walk inside.
"30th floor for two" I stared at Nick with an are you serious look. Did I ever tell him I was scared of flight because I'm not comfortable with going that high.
The woman guided us to the nearest elevator putting a pin in.
Nick pushed me into the elevator.
"this place stays open till 5am you'll love it" he said pressing number 30.
I stood back and slowly watched us shoot up in the air. It was extremely fast, but smooth which calmed me down slightly.
When the doors opened up he grabbed my hand and pulled me out I looked around and saw a large open space with a big bar surrounding this beautiful oak tree. There was booths and seats around the room up against the window giving people amazing views of the city below us.
A waiter guided us over to a table at the far corner. Nick ordered us a bottle of wine, maybe some alcohol would calm down my fear of being this high.
I found Nick staring at me "How did you know about this place" I asked him moving closer so I could lean on him.
"My friend helped design this floor a few years ago he said that I should bring someone special here one day" Nick said with a grin.
Well that's one way to get back into the good books. Instead of saying that I leant up and kissed his cheek.
"if I wasn't so scared of height id go have a look at the view but like I just said I'm scared of heights" Nick almost smirked at me. he stood up abruptly. I was concerned when he reached out for my hand.
I shook my head almost violently. "not a chance in hell "I refused. He knelt down before me. "you'll regret it Selene, it's an amazing view please" he spoke softly, well begged.
I sighed, that gave him the answer he wanted. He pulled me up out of my seat.
"your drinks" the waiter came back. He poured us our glasses before leaving again.
I decided to take a few generous sips before I walked any closer to the large window. Nick stood behind me and held my waist.
"oh god, we're so high" I squealed holding onto Nick's coat for dear life. The evil prick just laughed at me as he looked out.
"stop laughing at me" I hit his chest. Thankfully he stopped and just help me. each second it was getting easier, I know I was being a baby about it. I finally was able to step closer and really look over the city. The bright lights were beautiful in the night, most of the people were sleeping but the city is very much alive.
It took me a while to finally realise that Nick wasn't holding me anymore but rather he was taking a picture of me with my own phone.
Should probably put a pin on my phone. It's not that I have anything to hide but I can't have all my personal information easily accessible like that for anyone.
I turned around and sat back down. Nick wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close. "Thank you for understanding me tonight, I honestly didn't think you would stay"
