Cautiously I sealed my lips over his wound and marvelled at the tingles rushing through my body. Gently I licked at the blood running from his gash and soon felt my body tingle all over, meaning that Nathan's blood worked itself through my veins.
Never once did Nathan's eyes wander from my face and I could clearly see how anguished he had felt.
When my mouth fell away from his wrist, he instantly gathered me in his strong arms and nuzzled his head into my neck where my mark was.
"I thought I had lost you.", he whispered brokenly and I was quick to tighten my embrace on him.
"I'm here.", I answered and felt the tears of my mate soaking my shirt.
My tears were quick to follow, but I knew it would not do us any good if both of us were falling apart right now so I tried to distract him.
"How did you find me?"
Suddenly Nathan's relaxed body stiffened and I could only guess that it meant that we were not alone anymore.
Nathan growled, but he was not moving which probably meant that someone from the Crescent Moon pack was heading towards us.
"It's time.", I heard Levin's voice tell us before he rounded the corner. When I could finally make out his face I gasped. It was swollen on one side and his lips were busted, nevertheless Levin smiled at me and I noticed the visible relief in his eyes.
"Believe me honey, I look better than you do."
Nathan growled at Levin's endearment to which Levin just rolled his eyes.
"What's happening now?", I wanted to know when Nathan had helped me to my feet. I still felt the effect of the silver in my blood system and was therefore wobbly on my legs.
Instantly Nathan lifted me into his arms and before I could argue with him the angered expression on his face made me keep me mouth shut.
"If it wasn't tradition that Silas has to kill the current Alpha, I'd do it in a heartbeat."
My heart thumped heavily in my chest and although I still felt weak, there was nothing I could do but kiss my mate for the words he had just said.
Nathan immediately deepend the kiss and I could taste the desperation he still felt. I tried to soothe him with my kiss, but all it did was make him more desperate.
Levin's cough made me instantly aware of the present and sheepishly I let my lips fall from Nathan's to which he growled.
"Hate to interrupt, but I'm sure that Sophia wants to watch the fight.", Levin smirkingly told us and made his way upstairs.
The heat I had felt when kissing my mate instantly vanished and was replaced with a dark foreboding.
