We stood silently to watch Masa's body covered with a white sheet and onto the stretcher for the funeral that will be held tomorrow once they clean her body, Alpha has been on edge this morning, he contacted one hundred international packs and made a prize for whoever catches the killer, he was taking way too extreme measures.
"Alps, why are you pushing this over the top?" He got me closer to his chest as the breakfast tray laid on his side.
"Masa isn't a really bad girl, she had been having very troubling issues and I know my sister already told you this, she was a Luna for them because I lost hope, I thought I'd never feel as happy as I was with Cathy, then you came in." I could have sworn that his eyes glowed blue at me as he sent me a soft smile and I smiled back. I guessed that Masa was only sad that she had to lose the title.
"Will you ever tell me your name?" I pressed on and he chuckled at how nosy I was being, his porch showed the morning light and tiny breezes that tickled my bare arms as my silk gown Alpha bought for me was comfortable but left me bare to his eyes only.
"No, it's cursed." He said in a final tone and I knew not to push my luck for so long so I dropped it, anyway, I liked to call him Alpha more. I was still confused about his curse but maybe he would tell me when the time was right.
"I realized I didn't know anything about your life before me except that you were in Moonlight pack and your name." He confessed, suggesting that I start right now.
The fatal memory burned in my mind like rain acid, I sighed, I had to tell him before he found out himself. I made myself comfortable on his lap as his warm arms tangled around my waist.
"I had a sister and a mother but the house was burned and my sister and mother burned with it, I remember it very clearly," my voice cracked in raw pain with my hair tied and my face bare to him, the Alpha was silent as I continued, "the vivid orange flames, I wanted to die with them too in eternal peace and see them up again but the Alpha had to rescue me and I hated how I never get to hear my little sister's laugh and see my mother's smile and sparkly eyes, I just want to be home with them again." His breath hitched at my storytelling as he hugged me tighter.
"Don't say that I can't bear the thought of losing you at all," He whispered into my ear as he kissed my cheek, I wiped the tears that went astray, "I can help you find who did that fire." He declared and I shook my head, I wanted to do this on my own.
"No, it's gone now." I lied and he stayed silent, I cuddled into him as the morning birds chirped on his balcony. The red and white mixed room alight with the nice reflection of the morning sky.
"Alps?" He had full attention on me and I got nervous as I gnawed on my lip.
"Am I pressured to have your pups?" I squeaked on the last word in awkwardness, the room was silent until he laughed that very heart melting laugh.
No, it was a dying seal laugh, he didn't have an attractive laugh but being mates made me accept that and saw it as a good sound to my ears.
