I got a high fever after I went back

home. Trent returned home, smelling of

wine. Seeing me unconscious in bed and my red face, he panicked and carried me to the hospital.

I woke up, slowly lifted my eyelids. Seeing me awake, the nurse

exclaimed, “Mrs. Holloway, you’re finally awake! You had a fever for a day and a night. Mr. Holloway was so worried about you that he stayed by your bed until he just got a phone call. Should I call him? He’ll be happy to know you’re awake.”

I shook my head, my voice raspy.“No.”

The nurse left after feeding me
