Chapter 6 The day I picked up my dad from the hospital, I ran into Ophelia at the entrance. She invited me to a nearby café, saying she wanted to talk.

Ophelia was undeniably beautiful— her beauty was enviable. We sat across from each other, and I couldn't stop staring at her.

Every girl would probably want to have looks like hers, and it made sense why Stephen had never introduced me to his social circle. Compared to her, I simply wasn't good enough.

She gently touched her stomach and said, "I know why you and Stephen got married, but now that I'm back, I hope you'll step aside on your own." Her voice was firm, as if victory were assured. When I didn't respond, she continued, "That day, he came to me, begging me not to get married, but I turned him down. Later, when I heard you two were getting married, I asked him about it. He said he was drunk but didn't want to hurt you."

"You're so sure he still loves you?" I asked.

"The day I got divorced, he came to find me first. Do you think he still loves me?"

The answer was obvious. Deep red roses. I belong only to you.
