That day, I waited until it was dark, but Theodore didn't show up.

An inexplicable loneliness settled over me. Even Snowball lay quietly, gazing at the spot where Theodore usually sat.

As the last customers left, I finished tidying up and prepared to head home with Snowball. But at the door, I unexpectedly saw Stephen. I didn't know when he'd arrived or how long he'd been standing there. He looked weary, unshaven, a far cry from his usual polished self.

"Rosalie, I finally found you!" he exclaimed, rushing over to hug me tightly, his grip so firm I could feel his body trembling.

I gently pushed him away a bit and said, "Let me go first; I can't breathe." Reluctantly, he loosened his hold but kept his hands on my shoulders.

"Why did you leave me?" His eyes were bloodshot, and he questioned me angrily. If this had happened before, seeing him so anxious about me would have made me happy for days. But now, my heart was calm, without a single ripple.

I took a small step back and said coolly, "I already gave you the divorce papers. I don't want to be with you anymore; it's that simple."
