The next day, Easton's parents were reported. They were supposed to retire next month, but now they were directly suspended from their jobs.

However, in the following days, Kaylee didn't take advantage of the situation and get back online.

As I wondered why, I suddenly realized that there seemed to be a shadow following me these past few days.

I was working late until 9 PM that day. Since my car was being repaired, I took a taxi home. There was a small road under construction, so the driver dropped me off at the intersection.

As I got out of the car and hadn't walked far, I passed an alley when suddenly I felt a strong pull on my wrist, dragging me inside.

Before I could struggle, a cold voice whispered in my ear, "Don't move. This knife doesn't have eyes."

It was Easton's voice, filled with chilling rage.

That's when I realized a sharp blade was pressed against my neck, and the knife was still dripping with a strong metallic scent of blood.

"Easton, what do you want? Murder will get you the death sentence. It's not something that can be solved with two million,"

I coldly advised.

"Shut up, you slut. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be in this situation. You're the real culprit," Easton said, his emotions spiraling out of control.
