“The Thorpe family’s finished. No one’s stopping for you now–or ever again,” Maren retorted, her tone edged with mockery as she continued moving.

“You! Fine, fine! Maren, you’re cruel! I never realized how shallow you could be, turning your back on me just because my family is falling apart!” Wilbur’s face twisted in fury, teetering on the edge of a full breakdown.

From a distance, Maren let out a low laugh. “With that brain of yours, you might want to schedule a neurology consult. There’s clearly something not firing right.”

“Alright, the wolf pack is scattered. Let’s have them focus on sharpening the survival skills of the other teams. We’ll collect the wolves after the competition is over. “Agreed.” A wave of nods swept across the table.

The survival trial had been built on two pillars–basic living skills like hunting and shelter–building, and the crisis response phase, meant to test real danger and decision–making under pressure.

Judges had envisioned a dramatic showdown when the wolves were released–screams, running, scrambling for safety. It was supposed to be the apex moment.

However, the wolves had hardly shown up before Maren took them down by herself. She removed the main obstacle, and as a result, the following tests would no longer take place.

Even Gerald, who never passed on a jab at Maren, kept his mouth shut for once.

There was nothing left to undermine. If the wolves couldn’t shake her, what else could?

“This match has done its job. Let’s wrap things early for Maren and Morris. They’ve earned the break.”

“With all this wolf meat, we won’t need anything else. It should last us until the competition finishes,” Morris said, thinking Maren was talking about their food supply.

The moment he saw the wolyes that Maren had taken down, he started to pile their bodies, a feeling of awe. building inside him as he marveled at the bountiful catch. His mood lifted, thankful for the abundance.

With the wolves dispatched, there was no longer a need to fear the wilderness.
