Chapter 64 The Angels Of Death

In Baimsa’s western suburbs, a critical thoroughfare was abruptly closed off today. A group of armed men dressed in black swiftly took control, erecting barriers in the middle of the road and blocking all vehicular traffic.

Even the minor footpaths, barely navigable, were now under the watchful eyes of newly formed guard towers.

This primary access way was the sole entrance to the city, and its closure effectively isolated the entire western district from external contact.

“Sir, are you confident this newcomer, Scorpion, can handle the guy who took our weapons? The guy claimed the lives of over twenty of our members!”

Under the cover of a makeshift shelter, Tyler Freeman sat back, listlessly browsing his phone. The screens around him displayed live surveillance of all the nearby roads, yet his subordinate appeared restless.

Tyler nonchalantly picked up his coffee and enjoyed a leisurely sip. “Do you actually grasp who Scorpion is?”

His subordinate, Curt Sahwit, shook his head.

After setting his coffee down, Tyler became momentarily silent, as if recalling a dark piece of history.

“I’ll never forget what my father once shared. Scorpion defeated him in merely three moves. That’s why he

incessantly cautioned us to be respectful towards Scorpion.”

“What? He overcame your father in just three moves?” Curt’s shock was evident.

Baimsa’s criminal landscape was under the firm grip of the Angels of Death.

Leading them was none other than Tyler’s father.

“Incredible. Our leader is unmatched in combat throughout Baimsa. Only the dean of the Royal Military Academy could potentially stand a chance against him.”

“There’s nobody else in Baimsa capable of such feats because Scorpion is from the Sovereign Underworld,”

Tyler said.

“The Sovereign Underworld? That enormous international crime syndicate!?”

Curt came to a realization. Compared to the Sovereign Underworld, the Angels of Death was just a minor player.

“No wonder he left us to manage things while he pursued the culprit who swiped our shipment. But what’s the draw for a member from the Sovereign Underworld to come to Baimsa?” Curt asked.

“It’s because a notable figure from our city caught their eye,” Tyler responded, his tone tinged with bitterness.

“What notable figure are you referring to?” Curt was puzzled.

Tyler fixed him with a stern look. “Have you already forgotten about the tragic accident at the South Hill race involving Marcus Lee?”

“The Sovereign Underworld was targeting that woman racer?”

Curt suddenly remembered. The event had initially created a big stir, but when there was no follow–up action

from the Sovereign Underworld, it seemed to have quietly faded away.

“Absolutely. Marcus was a skilled fighter. Only a highly skilled individual could eliminate him so effortlessly.

That’s precisely why the Sovereign Underworld dispatched one of their best.”

The situation with this female racer was becoming increasingly problematic for Tyler. The Angels of Death

claimed dominion over Baimsa, and the race had been their event. Yet, a murder had occurred under their

oversight, and the perpetrator remained at large, much to the chagrin of the Sovereign Underworld.

Furthermore, the recent shipment of sophisticated weaponry provided by the Sovereign Underworld to handle

her had mysteriously disappeared.

“If I’d anticipated this mess, I wouldn’t have been so quick to seek favor with the Sovereign Underworld.

There’s no turning back now, though. I’m just hoping Scorpion can retrieve our stolen shipment,” Tyler muttered, his face marked by regret. “I’ve heard the guy, known as Stormclaw, is formidable. Scorpion himself

has acknowledged his capabilities.”

In this shadowy world, only the powerful gain recognition from their peers. While Tyler had many men at his disposal, he doubted their ability to handle Stormclaw. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have them simply securing the

perimeter.

Luckily, Scorpion had personally taken up the pursuit of Stormclaw. Their task was now to ensure that no one. else could smuggle the weapons into the city.

“Given that Scorpion has taken the initiative to confront Stormclaw, it speaks volumes about his own strength. Stormclaw usually operates alone, unlikely to have significant backup. He lay back on the makeshift sofa, so at ease that he ceased monitoring the surveillance feeds.

Reassured by Tyler’s confidence, Curt finally relaxed.

However, what Tyler and Curt failed to foresee was that Stormclaw did indeed have a partner, and not just any partner, but one far more formidable/than Stormclaw himself.

And she was already nearing their location.
