"No I'm fine, I was just in a hurry to get to class." I curtly replied. Maybe he was just like Loren, maybe this was an act. If it was an act I didn't want any part of it.

"Oh. Okay.. good. My name is Brian, I'm a senior here if you need any help, just let me know!" He said while producing his hand for me to shake.

"Mm... My name is Noel. I'm a junior but I think I got it." I said but then quickly added to not hurt his feelings (because I'm a softy that way), "but thank you, I appreciate it."

I went to shake his hand but the second we touched he yelled and pulled his hand back. I stood there in total shock. I looked down at my hand and didn't see anything on it. I hadn't felt anything but clearly Brian had. I look back up at Brian to see anger and confusion in his eyes.

"Are... are you okay?" I ask, totally not understanding what was going on, I think that was completely evident in my shocked facial expression.

He looked at me with scrutiny for a long minute before relaxing then replied, "Sorry.. you must've shocked me.. sorry I scared you."

Then he just walked off. I stood in my spot for a moment before hearing the warning bell sound. The sound immediately knocked me out of my shock and I took off for my class. I made it before the final bell sounded and took my seat.

The teacher wasn't lecturing yet so I ran over what had just happened. It made no sense to me. A shock really? And he yelped like that? He must be a really big wimp then. I've been shocked and yelped in surprise but never like that. I shrugged it off and took my book out to get ready for the class. Why should it matter to me?

Next class I had with Brie, I was so excited to see a friendly face. I told her about what happened before the bell rang. She laughed and laughed til the devil himself walked through the door. Followed by two other guys and Loren. How I didn't realize yesterday that they were in this class is beyond me.

"Are you alright, miss... miss...?" The teacher asked, realizing he didn't know my last name.

"Noel. And yes I'm fine. I think I had a migraine but it seems to have passed. I'm sorry about that." I replied without any enthusiasm, the exhaustion even leaked into my voice.

He sent me a look before returning to teaching. I tried to relax so that my energy could build up. I couldn't shake the feeling that someone was staring at me. I knew who it had to be but I didn't dare turn around. It had to be Brian, by this point he must think I'm crazy. First I shock him somehow and now I'm causing a scene in class.

When the bell rang Brie and I rushed out to head to lunch. I didn't even glance back, not wanting to know what Brian thought of me. Not that I was interested in Brian, I just didn't want to start off with a bad reputation.
