Valencia’s POV

Dante was furious.

Maybe not directly at me—but most of his anger was centered around me.

The heat of it burned in the air between us, thick and suffocating, his body wound so tight with rage that I could almost hear the tension crackling like a live wire beneath his skin.

It almost felt like fire was burning through our connection.

His golden eyes darkened to molten red, and his jaw clenched so tightly I thought he might break his teeth.

“How are you so sure?” he seethed, his voice low, controlled—but barely.

I exhaled slowly, my own hands curling into fists at my sides.

How do I explain something I just know?

I couldn’t not without explaining my rebirth and we didn’t have time for that. Nor would he be able to handle knowing the truth if he gets this wound up just knowing what Lethia did to me.

“I just know,” I said firmly. “Whether you believe it or not… is up to you.”

Silence settled in the room like an unwelcome guest.

Seven sat curled up in the corner, his small hands clutching his bag tightly against his chest. Castor was inside, likely sensing the tension in the air, and I could see Seven’s shoulders tense.

Finally, Marcy broke the silence, sighing.

“She’s right,” she said, her voice softer than usual. “This might be our last opportunity. A wedding this grand, with so many powerful figures in attendance, won’t happen again. At least not anytime soon.”

I turned to look at her, and she shook her head, a reluctant but resigned expression crossing her face.

“As much as I hate to say it,” she continued, glancing toward Dante, “we have to push through this.”

Dante exhaled sharply, his fists clenched at his sides. He didn’t argue.

Instead, without another word, he turned on his heel and stormed into the bathroom, slamming the door behind him with enough force to rattle the glasses on the table.

I winced at the sound, my throat tightening.

I hated this.

The feeling of being at odds with him, of causing him pain—of being the reason his rage felt so uncontainable.

Caius, who had been silent throughout the argument, finally spoke.

“You also think we should back out?” I asked him.

He hesitated, then shook his head. “Dante is being irrational, but Vi… after what we just heard, isn’t it normal for him to react this way?” His expression was tense, filled with anger, his fingers drumming against his laptop. “If someone treated my mate like that, I wouldn’t want them anywhere near her ever again.”

I clenched my jaw but didn’t interrupt.

“Of course, if you’re asking me as an outsider, I’d say we should go ahead with the plan,” he continued. “But even if we don’t… I wouldn’t blame either of you.”

I exhaled a deep breath, glancing toward the closed bathroom door.

I understood why Dante felt this way. I really did.

But that didn’t change my decision.

“Well… you guys can go ahead and be irrational, then,” I muttered. “I am definitely not backing out.”

Not after everything we had gone through.

Not after everything Lethia had done.

Not after everything I had just endured.

— Thirty minutes later —

Everyone was dressed, prepared.

I was in the middle of touching up Marcy’s makeup when a knock sounded at the door.

Silviah and Serena stepped inside, the twin girls dressed in shimmering blue and pink tulle dresses, their hair adorned with delicate silver clips.

Silviah, dressed in blue, spoke first.

“The guests have arrived,” she announced.

Serena followed immediately after. “Father and the Alphas require your presence. The ceremony will begin soon.”

I nodded, offering them both a small smile. “We’ll be out soon. Thank you.”

They smiled politely back before turning and leaving, their tall figures vanishing down the hall. They looked more grown up now, even in their princessy attires. My mind couldn’t help but go back to the time I had caught Jaxon in bed with them.

I took a deep breath, clearing my mind and turning back to the others.

“Ready?”

Dante was standing near the doorway now, composed once again, though I could still feel the unease rolling off him in waves.

Instead of answering, he reached for my hand, intertwining our fingers as he pulled me close. His warmth seeped into me, grounding me.
