With a smile, Zane met the eyes of the woman across from him. When he saw her gentle yet composed gaze, he fell even harder for her. Suddenly, Zane realized why he had feelings for the woman.

She was gentle, yet she was strong. It seemed as if she would never be defeated by anything.

After a short pause, Zane said, "Actually, there isn't much for us to talk about. We've been together for quite some time, and we've already talked about all the things that we wanted to talk about. I just want to spend more time with you."

Upon hearing Zane's words, I got up and approached him. Zane gestured to me to sit down next to him, and I promptly sat down next to him. He then immediately wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

I casually picked up the remote control and asked, "Since we don't have anything to do, should we watch some TV?"

As I said that, I leaned into Zane's arms. But suddenly, Zane's body tensed up before he continued and said, "Sure."

Sensing his tension, I looked at him in disbelief. After all, we've done even more intimate things together. I was surprised at how he was being shy about something so casual.

Zane asked awkwardly, "What?"

In response, I laughed and said, "It's nothing. Let's watch TV."

Hearing that, Zane became his usual self. He picked a light-hearted television program, and we exchanged discussions as we watched it together.

Steven's head was throbbing, but he forced himself to sit up. Steven asked Chloe, "Did you call Annalise just now?"

When Chloe saw Steven's tears, she became even angrier. Chloe snarled, "Why are you still defending her?"

Steven suddenly felt tired from hearing Chloe's voice. He said, "Mom, stop interfering with my matters; I'll handle them myself. You can go home."

Chloe stood up and exclaimed, "How is that possible? I only have one son! Do you know how upset I am when I see you getting drunk over a woman?"

"I know," said Steven, closing his eyes. Steven was not emotionally stable, yet Chloe continued to provoke him with confrontational words.

Steven missed the time when he was with Annalise. Back then, he didn't have to worry about anything, and Annalise would get everything sorted for him. When all Steven had to do every day was focus on his job, he could live very comfortably.
