By late morning the next day, both Xena and Belle were seated in a private dining room at a restaurant in Avesburgh. 

“Milady, according to the intel, the president of Stellar Group was supposed to attend. However, our team at the airport confirmed that only the vice president arrived. Is it still necessary for you to host this lunch?” 

Xena chuckled. “Don’t say that. Stellar Group is ranked tenth in all of Dragonía, and they’re investing here in my hometown. As the host, it’s only right to treat them to a meal. 

“Besides, others might not know, but you surely know that Stellar Group is just the smallest of that person’s companies.” 

That person? 

Belle suddenly remembered and immediately smiled. 

“I understand now, milady. You’re extending this courtesy more because of that person’s influence. Though I must say, Stellar Group’s president is quite the mystery. No one even knows their name yet. If you’d let me investigate further, I’m sure we could uncover it.” 

Xena shot her a playful glare, feeling a little exasperated. “There are plenty of things to be curious about. Do you think you can know them all? Besides, what use is it to us to dig any deeper?” 

Belle stuck out her tongue and fell silent. She was aware her curiosity sometimes got the better of her. 

At that moment, the door to the private room opened, and a man entered. 

Belle’s eyes immediately lit up. The young man was incredibly hot–the kind that made it hard to look away. His demeanor was equally striking, radiating an unusual charisma. 

“Lady Summers, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Joshua Rush. Thank you for the invitation. It’s truly an honor.” 

Upon hearing the name, Belle was even more surprised. So this was Joshua Rush, the vice president who was actually leading the Stellar Group delegation. He was far more dashing in person than in any photo she had seen, 

Xena, still seated, gave only a slight nod. “No need for formalities. Please, sit.” 

As the first goddess of war in Dragonia, Xena was well within her rights to stay seated, and Joshua didn’t seem the least bit offended. In fact, he seemed to regard her action as entirely appropriate. 

“I’m grateful Stellar Group has chosen to invest in Avesburgh,” Xena continued.

Joshua smiled in return. “Avesburgh has great potential. Our decision to invest here wasn’t made on a whim. It followed careful consideration and thorough research.” 

The meal progressed smoothly, with both sides enjoying the conversation. Sensing that the time was right, Joshua suddenly broached another subject. 

“Since I’ll remain in Avesburgh as the project leader for the city within a city development, I’d like to exchange contact information with you, Lady Summers. After all, we’re not familiar with the city. 

“Despite Stellar Group’s reputation, we’re still concerned that we might struggle against local forces. So…” 

Though Joshua left the rest of his sentence unsaid, Xena easily understood what he was implying.
